Gonzales High School is improving to meet student needs. However the administation needs to focus more on student needs. This year there has been cuts in every area of the school and there has been many layoffs, but the Superintendent and Asst. Superintendent gave themselves a raise!

I am not very impressed with the high school. I have to admit that things are better as far as offering better, higher classes. Ms. Liz Modena is wonderful and I know it takes a while to get things rolling but some changes I'd like to see is more options for students. For example only 1 Spanish teacher. That's just not good. Many other things but students need more.... I believe there is no communication with parents. A monthly calendar is not enough. I never found out about certain meeting. I was invited to a Spartan meeting which I'm assuming was cancelled because nobody was there. I insisted, almost begged my husband so we can go and guess what? Nobody was there. I'd like to receive more information how we as parents can participate.
