Van Gogh is a phenominal school on all counts! Great leadership, great teachers, and great family community!
There's something really special about this amazing school. Everyone from the teachers to the administration to the parents are friendly, warm and welcoming. The incredible principle has set a precedence of strong leadership from the top down. My daughter loves going to school every morning and loves to talk about her day once I pick her up. The curriculum is enriched with creative teaching and integrates all facets of the arts to entice an appetite to learn. My daughter's kindergarten teacher has a genuine passion for teaching that can't be denied. She cares about each and every one of her students and welcomes parental participation. She looks for the strengths in her students and know how to nourish those traits. We feel very fortunate to be a part of this wonderful school.
Amazing school... exceptional teaching strategies that work wonders with kids. The teachers have the knowledge, support and abilities to be able to keep all their students at a level of learning that is just superb. Students with difficulties in learning are made sure they get what they need, the extra time and effort is there! And the principal is very involved, always thinking of creative ways to make the school stomp through budget cuts and be there for staff and students. No one wants to leave this caring and warm school, where PTO is very strong, welcoming and friendly. Always thinking what is the best for the kids and staff in the school. Love the "bonding and friendships" in the entire school. Highly recommend to everyone!
Van Gogh really is a hidden gem in the valley. The school has an excellent principal, superior teachers and support staff and a very close knit, small community feel. My little one is in the second grade and although we entertained the idea of moving him to Balboa Magnet, I am so happy we decided to stay.
Van Gogh is the best school in the town, the teachers and staff are all perfect.
Great school, great teachers, amazing principal. My daughter is in 1st grade, and, cannot wait to go to school every day. Van Gogh has a great team with its teachers, principal and PTO, all of whom make it the wonderful institution that it is.
I can't say enough great things about this school. The teachers are great and continue to do a great job in the rapidly changing environment of the LAUSD system. The principal is incredible. Her attitude, attention to issues, and perspective is above and beyond expectations. My son attends via open enrollment and I am SO happy we got in.
Van Gogh is an amazing place. I am thrilled my kids are here and I have nothing but great things to say about the teachers staff and especially the Principal, Mrs. Gundersen.
I absolutely love Van Gogh. Mrs. Gundersen is always working hard to make it great for parents and students even in the face of big challenges from the district.
Im am so happy with Van Gogh. The teachers have been the best and the principal has such high standards for her school. The parent invovlement is outstanding. It feels like we are in a private school because this school is the diamond of all the LAUSD schools.
