Grateful to: Staff member
September 15, 2015
I want to say Thank you to the Learning Director Mrs. Fagundes. She took the time to work with my son during afterschook tutoring and during summer school and realized that his teachers recommendation to repeat Kindergarten was ridiculous. She recognized that he would have more resources to supplement his learning of he moved on. She saw that he was ahead enough to be have been bored if repeating Kindergarten & that he needed to be pushed and challenged to keep up his uphill progress. She's been an amazing advocate in my child's education and I am Very grateful.

Teacher effectiveness: Somewhat effective
September 15, 2015
These teachers and staff members are very effective. Both, in positive & negative manners. The one rude teacher my son had, completely changed his attitude the entire year last year. Yet my daughters amazing teacher pushed her further than she's ever gone!

Amount of homework: Don't know
September 15, 2015
I'm not sure how I feel about the homework. Some days it's an incredible amount that takes us from the time we get home at 3:30pm, through dinner time and rushing to wrap it up before bedtime. There have been days the kids struggle and feel drowned by homework. There have been days that I have noticed I myself, feel drowned by the amount of homework. I partly attributed it to not being in school for so long, that I have just forgotten what homework looks like.

Develops grit: Strongly agree
September 15, 2015
My student hasn't been motivated or pushed to excel by anyone other than myself, until I enrolled them in KRH and I have seen them grow leaps and bounds from the support of persistence.

Kings River-Hardwick Students and teachers definitely have respect and teach respect. Just check out their Student Hanbook & refer to the Anti-Bullying Pledge.

The schools policy about being a Wildcat is great! It really keeps the student responsible for themselves and teaches them to hold accountability. Their Anti-Bulling Pledge that every student must sign, is very positive. Instillin;, Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring & Citizenship in our students. Not one of my kids has had a problem with bullying!

Although we had an experience with an awfully rude Kindergarten teacher last year, my oldest has made so many strides. Coming from Lemoore School District, where it felt like she wasn't grasping anything, and that there wasn't enough help to get her learning, I am just amazed. She went from not receiving any academic awards in previous school years to being presented with 4 or more awards at award ceremonies. She had a wonderful teacher last year who pushed her & motivated her! They offer after school tutoring and a daily workshop to work more one on one in a small group setting, as opposed to the whole 25 kids in a class. They take their time and make sure your child is not left behind!

I'm so disappointed that this is suppose to be one of the best schools in the area and they have proven to me that it was the worst mistake to have even enrolled my children at this school. No one seems to know what happens here when an accident occurs. Some not all staff are awfully rude.

Kindergarten teacher would NOT tie my son's shoe. Told him to "tuck it in". He tripped over it for hours and it fell off causing him to step in thorns. Next day (day two of the school year!) she left him on the schoolyard and took the children back to class. He had to yell for help until someone on a golf cart came to get him. HE IS 5!! We have yet to hear back from the teacher and no one in the office seems to know or care about what happened. We only know that our sweet boy was terrified when we picked him up and wanted to go to a different school. We also witness a 4 year old transitional kinder student looking for her teacher, knocking on the class door with no one to help her. This would not happen if they would simply keep kindergarten separate (like other schools do) from the rest of the children. Pure chaos at this school.

EXCELLENT school. I attended this school from k-8th grade and now my children go there. We moved back to the area when my son was in kindergarten and had previously attened private school. After seeing both the private schools available to us and this school, I chose Kings River over all the privates. I chose it for for its cirriculum, mostly... They have an amazing music program available to all students, art, physical education, and many other "extras". The school is not perfect, but it is a great school. I have only had positive experiences there with both parents and staff. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. -Kylee Henderson, parent and past student

Excelllent school, exceeded my expectations. I had nothing but good experiences and interactions with staff, including volunteers, teachers and administration. My son's kindergarten teacher went above and beyond to make his first year of school beneficial for him, and easy on me as we transitioned into this new (and heartrending) phase of life.

I attended this school from kindergarten through 5th grade and I truly couldn't have asked for a better education. I am a high school senior now and this school really helped instill the ideals of self-expression, hard work, and compassion in me. The level of academic rigor prepared me well for private schools attended afterward in a different city. The teachers always took a personal investment in my life and my work and relentlessly cared about the students. I learned 6th grade math in my fourth grade class, along with several lessons that go far beyond the classroom. I would highly reccoment this school to anyone who wants their child to go boldly into life with a strong leadership skills and a great academic foundation.

I moved to this school from virginia and was very disappointed. The teachers were all very nice but I feel that the level of education I recieved was below the level it should be. I was going over material that I learned in sixth grade when i was taking their eighth grade class.

Great school! Low teacher turn around. Teachers that truly care about their students and go above and beyond. They offer art lab, music lab, and computer labs.

Kings River has always had the reputation of being a terrific school with leadership working hand-in-hand with parents and teachers. Unfortunately in the last year or two, this has dramatically declined. There is disconnect between super/vice and what is best for the students! We can still achieve without misery. It would be great to see the school back on course with what the needs of the students, teachers, and parents and not from one or two people who have their own agenda. A team should include the board, super/vice, teachers, parents, and students!

The school seems to have difficulty maintaining previously attained high levels of instruction and leadership. The Board seems to be more interested in maintaining the status quo than making necessary leadership changes that would improve school culture and academic performance.

I cannot say enough good things about this school! My kids have been in this school since pre-k and we would not dream of going any place else! The staff and faculty are phenomenal and deeply care about the children! Best of the best!
