my children have been enrolled here for 6 years. The school is wonderful! The teachers are wonderful. The principal is active and great. I love it. My children have not had one problem. There is no bullying, which seems to be a great issue in other surrounding schools. The children are taught love and acceptance, as well as a tough BEKA curricullium.
My daughter went to CCS for all of her middle school years and I am so glad that we made the commitment to send her there. She was supported by the staff through what is difficult and confusing years for teenagers. I was thankful for the God centered teaching that went along with what we believe. The smaller environment was a positive thing and she was able to bond and connect with her teachers and the staff. I believe they have prepared her well for her high school years.
My daughter went to Community Christian for her junior high years. I believe this was a wonderful choice we made for her. The teachers are awesome. My daughter receives great compliments from her teachers in high school and I believe Community Christian assisted me in created a very resposible and well educated student. If CCS had a high school my daughter would be there in a heartbeat. Those were here exact words.
I am a parent and teacher at CCS. My children have attended 5 years. I am pleased to see the school ratings have improved the last few years. I have selected to work at CCS because it is a great school. Like every school- there are areas of improvement that are not being ignored. My children started at another Christian school and although it was a good school- CCS impressed me with their honest concern and love for the kids. I have watched them work with parents in a way that I have never heard of in another school. The front office personnel are wonderful and the principal is a wonderful Christian lady. If you are considering private education, I would highly recommend a visit to the school. I think the teachers there would agree when I say I love working there and the kids there are awesome!
This is the first year that my child has attended this school. She has a wonderful teacher that keeps me informed of her progress and aware of areas we need to focus on. As for the comment about the teachers not having degrees, I do not believe that to be true because it is required by ACSI that the teachers have them. (This does not apply to preschool teachers.) Compared to the curriculum that the public schools are using, what CCS uses is far better. My daughter's reading skills have improved dramatically since she has been here.
My child has been attending this school since pre-school and we love it. The academics are challenging and the parents seem to be very involved.
My child has attended this school for 2 years starting ing kindergarten. The abeka curriculum is wonderful. The teachers are loving and caring. my other child is in the preschool and she absolutely loves it. My child excels at this school.
My child has attended this school for about 2 years now. After this time, I am looking for another school. It has nothing to do with the teachers, or the level of education she is receiving, but because of the lack of care and/or concern from the administration when it comes to parental concern. One thing I did find note-worthy and you may want to consider, this school does not require their teachers to have a college degree, 2 or 4 year! They only require a minimum of Early Child Development classes. I found this to be upsetting. I know the cirriculum is good and the lesson plans and teaching manuals that go along with it are outstanding, but I would like to know for sure that a teacher is a 'teacher' and not just a competant adult ::sigh:: Good Luck!!
My son is in the school here, and from my experience and talking with other parents, it is not a very academic school. It seems to focus more on just getting through the school year, not on teaching. There is no set discipline, they sort of enforce rules at random not regularly. The only benefit is the kids learn about Jesus, which is a huge plus. All that in mind my son will not be returning next year.
