First of all, I love Mr. Marcus. Funchess. His work ethic and perserverance and determination have made a world of difference for myself and my child... we don't attend Thompson, however we are familiar with the leadership here and we know its a 5 start school!. love you Mr. Funchess
They truly care about the students and have always gone above and beyond their duties and are genuine in their efforts.
This school is awesome. The staff is wonderful, this school grounds are always kept neat and most of all the teachers and administrative staff really care about the needs of your children. My son was a bit of a handful when he first started there but now, he is one of the top students there. Hopefully in Mr. Tickell's absence the new prinicpal will do just as well as he did.
I must agree thompson is a great school! If your child is starting kindergarten ask for Mrs. Doyle she is wonderful! My child is quite the handful and she did wonderful with him! Spending extra time to make sure he made it through! Not many teachers would do that! She treats every child like they are her own! Wonderful school!
Pretty nice school. I think I can attest to what these last two parents have said. Bravo.
This school is wonderful they work with my kids to help that they understand what is going on in their school the teachers are great! they also have a great after school program!
Teachers put kids first at Thompson. Excellence in learning is the number one priority. Students needs are uppermost consideration. Parents are welcome to become involved in the classroom. The PTA is active and support many of the academic programs, including science fair and science camp. Meet the Masters art program is conducted on site; all classes participate in this program. Weekly music lessons are given in grade 3. Students in grades 4 to 6 can learn to play an instrument of their choosing, taking weekly lessons at the school. Basketball and football teams are organized in grades 5 and 6 to play against other elementary schools. This year-round school has a GATE program, programs for English Language learners, a resource program for students with Individualized Education Programs, and classrooms for the communicatively handicapped. School moral is high. A Peacebuilder school, students are taught to solve disputes in a peaceful manner.
