West Hillsborough School

This is a great school for teachers. Many teachers take too many days off. The school always hires substitutes as babysitters to watch the students. If you would like your kids to spend time with babysitters, you should come to this school.

I have 2 children at West. There are many good teachers and dedicated staff, but school has been having enough turnover in the past 5 years to be concerned about sustainability of quality.

West is an absolutely amazing school. I loved everything about it. Teachers are excellent, the academic program is stellar, and everyone is really nice. It's really hard to find a public school this good. West really is the best!!!

West is the most amazing school! the school focuses not only on academics, but on the whole child (character, responsibility, etc). Fantastic teachers, involved parents, and a wonderful community make West the best!

Excellent school! Twice awarded CA Distinguished school. National Character Education Award for programs where the students help in our's and surrounding communities. Wonderful Principal just retired, hired one of the best in the State as of Fall 06. Teachers are outstanding. Some of the best in the Country. Parents are on top of it and very involved. One of, if not the best schools in CA!

I currently have 3 daughters attending West, in grades K, 3, and 5. West provides a quality education. The students are extremely motivated. The teachers encourage the students to do their best. The specialists help to round out the education. There are specialists in Spanish, reading, and music, among others. Parental involvement is great. Combined, the parents provide as much help as at least 3 or 4 extra teachers. I can say, without exaggeration, that West is one of the best elementary schools, public or private, in San Mateo County.
