I have been a parent volunteer at this school for 5 years. The teachers are phenomenal; experienced, dedicated, and hard-working. They put in HOURS of their own time, are totally open to parent/community input, and use creative teaching methods to ensure that each student is able to succeed. Graduates from Jack Norton have gone on to institutions of higher learning such as UC Berkeley, Harvard, Stanford, and UCLA - schools you don't get into unless you can make the grade. JNES provides a great foundation, but teachers are only part of the educational team. The students' and their families' involvement truly determines the richness and value of the educational experience at any school . You get out of it what you put into it. The teachers and staff at Jack Norton have created a warm educational environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Our community is so fortunate they're here!

I have had children in this school for over 17 years. My husband graduated from this school. For the past 5 years the teachers in this school have lost their way of teaching. It bacame so bad that unfortunetly I had to take my children out of the school and put them in a school 24 miles away from home. The have been in the new school one week and are already doing much better. Since this school makes money for the district no one in the District Office wants to listen to the parents about the teachers. Two other children have been pulled out of the school and placed in a different school since my children left. It is really sad, this school was once the best school in the district and now it is the worst in the state.
