Lake View is a small school, which gives the staff the ability to really get to know the students. My child is getting an incredible education. The things he comes home knowing blow me away! The principal is caring and great. The PTO is so involved, and can address most kids on campus by name! We love Lake View!
I really dont know why this school is not a 10! The Staff and the parents at this school really make it such a wonderful place to be, with smart boards in every class room and new things to try to help develop an ease of learning and the wonderful test scores these kids are getting tells me this school should be a 20.
I love this school, My older son was entering 5th grade from a different school and I was worried that he might feel like a totallt outsider, but it was the total opposite. He was a shy kid who was no longer shy and was so happy he went into lake view. The previous school we were in had a few teachers and a tough principal that looked down at the children. But here all the kids are so happy as well as the staff. I believe that a school is a school but with the Principal at lake and the staff being so motivational Its great being there!
We love Lake View. Like most schools, the quality of the academic program can vary throughout classrooms and grades, depending on the teacher. We have found that the teachers at Lake View take the time to make each child feel important, a key to their academic success. My three children that attend Lake View honestly enjoy attending their classes and the learning environment is enriched through art programs, musical instruction, physical education, computer lab, smart boards in use throughout the school, and most recently our NASA Explorer program. Parent and community involvement is extremely high and the PTO is very tuned in to the needs of the teachers and students. Special assemblies, guest poets and speakers, monthly family nights, and fieldtrips happen regularly. My children had attended 3 other elementary schools prior to moving to Huntington Beach. We're staying put at Lake View. Go Lions!
I have no knowledge of this school as of yet. I'm moving to the Huntington Beach area and am trying to find the best public shool available. California has some of the lowest scores in the nation. We need to change this, we have to change this for our children. Hopefully Lake View is tryign to make this happen.
I was shocked to read a negative review about our school. I love it here. My kids have met an astronaut and talked to a space station. Learned about Vincent Van Gough and Claude Monet and their different art styles. I've never heard of Paul Cezan but they know all about him. My second grader learned Multiplication and Division in the second grade. My first grader managed to save $250 in her savings account because she learned the value of money. They know the continents right off the top of their heads. They have learned things at such an early age and retain everything. The school has one of the best staffs and Mrs. Wright is so solid she holds it all together. The teachers are outstanding, caring and patient. The teachers know each child individually which I find impressive. Great parent volunteers always ready to help. Mmmmm... Is that Bad?
I have 2 children enrolled. A 1st and 5th grader and feel that all the teachers are great and caring people. They have made great progress in the past 4 years we have been at this school.
I also had a student in 2nd grade at this school and have an absolute opposite opinion. I thought the school was very organized and I felt free to speak what I felt to the principal. I hear the principal will be leaving the school this year, so it could be a different environment. Our teacher was caring and wonderful and the parent group is amazing. I just got my childs test scores back and she did great. I think the school had tremendous spirit.
My child is only in 2nd grade but it only takes a few weeks to see that this school is in need of help. The teachers and staff are unprofessional, the principal is argumentitive, the kids are out of control and learn some pretty bad things as early as Kindergarten. Terrible school and I am not alone in this. Most are scared to speak up but they all agree. If you are considering bringing your child here, you might as well kiss their education good-bye.
