I have nothing but good things to say about this school. I have 2 sons that have gone through Oneanta they have had the best teachers and the principal is so involved. Both my kids are above average and this being a no child left behind school I've had my doubts, but the teachers just try that much harder.

my kids have gone to this school, (collectively), for 8 years. almost all of the teachers are wonderful, and so is the principle. most also really encourage parent involvement, and will do whatever it takes to help the kids learn.

Rock solid teachers that go the extra mile for the students. Many spend extra hours and money out of pocket to insure all get the best education that the school can provide. Principle has done many good changes for students and school as a whole. Each year builds on next years curriculum and the teachers insure the students are prepped correctly for next years classes. Very good school in spite of comments below.

Every school in the South Bay union Schools district has the same music program and availability for beginner to Jazz and Concert band as well as Orchestra. Mr. Steve Ball and Mr. Mike Pretzer are the music teachers. Music room is at Mendoza Elementary and children who advance to concert band, jazz band or orchestra meet two times a week at 7:30am for practice as well as these music teachers have a schedule to all schools in the district depending on enrollment. This has been a wonderful experience for my child and if your child has an interest in music get in touch with these teachers.

We need to provide more stimulating activities with a new direction to teach English.

I was new to the area and was pleasantly pleased with this school. It is located in a suburban area of Imperial Beach. Classroom sizes are smaller and children get the attention they need. I think it is a great school!

The school got a new pricipal this year. He is very proactive in getting the right staff in the school. School has a high population of ESL. This drags down the schools overall test scores. Top of the mark teachers! The school test scores do not reflect caliber of teaching! Each teacher puts in extra hours to insure quality learning!

This school is okay they do need improvements in placing students in proper classrooms. My child is non spanish speak and was placed in a class with more then half of the student speak spanish only. Which means that he is being cheated from learning. This school does not offer a music program, but they do offer a bus to send you another school for you music lession. Parents are asked to be part of the PTA and be part of their child classroom.
