Jamul Int School has been nothing but a postive experience for my child. The teachers have been first rate and I believe the negative reviews ususally come from a problem parent. It is a fantastic school for the kids to learn and be challenged.

The Superintendent and the Board are not up to date on the latest techniques to support education in a diverse and challenging world. I agree that they do not have a clue as to what is going on in education today. Our son has since moved to a school in North Carolina, and we find that the quality of education is far superior there. Left Jamul and grateful!

Jamul Schools do alot to improve the achievement for English Language Learners and economically disadvantaged students, but unfortunetly those in the GATE program or other high achievers are not well supported. I think more needs to be done to address the needs of students at the top. Many students become bored or are held back because of the focus on the under achievers or ELL. GATE is not well funded, and parents are often confused about the structure of the program. It's a great school otherwise, but most involved parents with GATE students hope the needs of these kids will not be ignored. There is a great art program, dual language program, great teachers etc...just need to improve GATE!

This school has a long way to go before it can be called effective. The School Board is stagnent and not united in its efforts to improve education. If your child attends this school make sure they can read. The Board has not studied the issues and does not have a clue as to what is going on in education today. It is not motivated in that direction. They want to look good and sound good but the 'Emperor has No Clothes'.

I love my kids' schools. Great everything! Awesome Music, Art, Drama program. Great parent involvement. PTSA and Friends of Jamul rock.

For a small, rural school JIS is impressive. Progressive yet caring teachers who stress literacy.
