Fantastic school! Since transferring here, our daughter has felt much more secure. The principal and teachers are very dedicated to providing the best eduction possible to the students. The staff is also professional and caring.
Scraping the bottom of the barrel for teachers or any of the staff period. Selling my house just to move my children to another school. Keep your kids away
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Also my 2 grandchildren go there and they love their school and teacher as well.
I have read all the reviews on this site now about this school and pretty much all of them are bad reviews...My son has been in this school since the first day of kindergarten and it was not that great of a school...He is now going into the third grade and I am happy to leave him there because the new principal, Mr. Hess, has really turned the school around making it a pleasant school to have your child enrolled at...When my 18 month old son starts school I will be more than happy to enroll him at JTES
My son attended the early childhood programs at JTE. He enjoyed it very much. The special education staff is attentive and dedicated.
My son went there for kindergarden, and he had a wonderful teacher, she was caring and took the time to talk to me anytime I had a question or she had a concern. This he will be returning and I hope he will have another good year there, with he new teacher.
I had one of my daughters in this school a few years ago when she was physically attacked by another student. The school did nothing about it stating that it was her word against his. While she was on honor role, with no record of trouble, and he was listed as a trouble maker. I pulled her out for a year. I then had to put her as well as three other of my kids in the school and near the end of the school year I learned through independent testing that my youngest had no reading skills at all, and extremely low math skills. The school had informed me that he was doing just fine on both aspects. I was very disappointed in this school overall.
We enrolled our grandson into Joshua Tree elementary school. He missed a full day of school with another student, (who had been previously expelled) without even a phone call to us, from the school, to inquire about his absense. We thought he was in school that day, and anything could have happened before we were even aware that he was missing. When asked, the principal explained their lack of funds was the reason we were not contacted, so we immediately offered to volunteer our time to help, so this would not happen in the future with possibly terrible results for a child. Our offer was turned down by the principal. Parent involvement is discouraged and shunned. When a bus broke down, delaying the return of the children from a field trip, long after the end of a school day, the parents were not notified. Also, this school placed our grandson in a special reading program that he did not need. We pulled our grandson out and placed him in a private school where he tested above average and where his grades have improved dramatically. I would not again enroll a child in Joshua Tree elementary, the class sizes are small, but the administration of this school is worse than any I have ever seen.
