This school has a great principalbut terrible, cruel and despicable assistant principal.Behavior support class need a better teacher.
Great new leadership, great staff. Many changes seem to be creating a new culture of discipline and higher expectations. I've seen it, and things are looking very positive.
This is a great school with lots of opportunities for the students to learn and grow. The teachers are very helpful in letting the parents know what is going on with their kids.
New principal this year. Not thrilled. The new principal was the VP last year. Otherwise, the teachers are good, seem to be doing fine with students. A couple however are book only teachers.
This will be my daughters third year at Benton and she loves it. All the teachers she's had have been very positive, and expect nothing less than your best. The teachers are always available for the students, whether its to prepare them for a big test or if the student has fallen behind the class, in the mornings before school starts. The school itself is a distinguished school led by a great principal and staff. We've had nothing but excellent experiences with Benton.
I had one special ed student and a regular student who attended here. I have to say that some staff and teachers would benifit from sensitivty training. Special ed students were often not notified of field trips and assemblys and derogatory terms were used toward them by [the] staff.
I couldn't be happier with the teachers and Principal at Benton. All teachers have a website for homework information, and the Principal, David Crabtree has an open door policy. I have always dropped in at the last minute, and I have never been told that he is unavailable. Personally, I see very little parent involvement. They are the first to complain and the last to help out.
What many people don't know is that Benton has a good size special education population and their SAT9 and CAT6 scores are included into the regular education percentage. Not all other middle schools have this situation. This can bring down the percentages. Benton Middle School is a wonderful school.
School could use more informative ways of letting parents know what s going on.
I think that Benton Middle School has very horrible teachers. My daughter had attended Benton for her 8th grade year, and had some of the worst teachers I had every seen. Not at all prepared. The principle of Benton did nothing about such camplaints that were made to him from parents and students. There was also high drugs abuse at this school, meaning that the kids there were selling drugs, and using. I wish I had known earlier.
