Nogales High School is a horrible school and I feel bad for all the kids attending it. If I had the chance to remove my kids from this school i'd take it. Most of the administration does not know what they are doing and do not know how to do their job right. This school is filled with a bunch of trashy kids who do not care about their education or worry about the future. The only dedicated program is the IB/AP program, however, there are some unfair things about. All three of my children have been in the IB classes for the past few years and they always talk about how unfair it is that kids take out their phones in the middle of tests to cheat and get away with it. This school is very undisciplined and has fights going on every other week. Maybe administration should do something instead of standing around for once.
Maybe the administration should stop worrying about who's shorts are "too short" and motivate students to care about their education. Teachers should also start doing their job instead of sitting around on Facebook during class and talking about their personal life that nobody cares about.
I am a current student at Nogales High School. I am a Junior, Class of 2015. I believe this school is a great school, its just the bad reputation that makes it seem bad.mit has a bad reputation because of all the gangs near the school. The teachers do care about the students' academic performance and do whatever they can to help them. This school is great! The Honors, AP and IB courses are excellent! Throughout the years, it has changed dramatically, in a positive way. Gotta love this school.
This school needs a lot of improvements starting with the principles and Vice Principal's How Nogales does have great teachers but can't go anywhere without the right leadership with a principle that is only looking to Advanced her career With a district position Should focus more on her students and school staff and helping teachers accomplish their goals
Nogales High School is a great school where teachers do care! The grades reflect on students effort and parent involvement with their student.Nogales provides all needed resources for a student to succeed..it's up to the student and parent to get on the ball..
Nogales high school is the best school.... they have great teaches and students .. they have the cheerleaders chaps for 2 years . Band won first place.... the dance team is doin a great job. GO NOBLES
School is filled with both incapable teachers and students. Students refuse to learn and teachers have difficulty teaching. Sports are the only things they have left.
as a current student at nogales i really believe that this school is one the worst schools in the state of california. the administration is focused more on the football program than education. the nogales football team rarely wins more than two games a season, the baseball and basketball teams are the best sports we have, but these sports do not get any compared to what is spent on the football team. the administrators focus on foot ball for their own personal pleasure.
Although nogales high school has a reputation of being a bad school, it is all wrong. Like society, it is the few bad groups that gives the whole a bad name, which is why nogales has been given a bad reputation. When you talk to the students dedicated in their shcool work, you see that they plan to achieve a future, and nogales helps provide this with their good selection of classes. They even offer the IB program, which is not common among high schools, and they have great teachers teaching the AP/IB courses as well
NHS is an alright school, it has many great programs for the students and in all of California NHS puts in the most amount of high school graduates into UCLA. The teachers there are great. The only reason why NHS appears to seem as an inadequate school is because some of the students simply do not care. If a student wants to well he/she will. Not only that the media is constantly giveing the school a bad rep. for pathetic crimes that happen two-three blocks away, it is ridiculous. They automaticly blame the school that had no part in any of it. Just because a school just so happens to be in a 'bad area' it does not mean that it is also a bad school.
Bad organized school, would not recomend it,the kids cannoot show intrest to learm whe the teachers dont show intrest to teach
I am a substitute teacher and I have taught at both high schools in the district. The difference between Nogales and Rowland High is like night and day. Nogales students have no school pride at all. During lunch they will throw their trash on the ground or leave it where it is rather than put it in the trash can right next to them. The staff does the best they can but unfortunately the majority of the students treat the campus the same as their studies. They just don't care, which is too bad as their are some really great students in the school.
What a terrible school. Highly disorganized, very dirty, poor teacher quality, and it definitely needs some upgrading. The school has a reputation for a reason. I felt like I was in a school built in the 1700s and has never seen renovation.
So if you ask me, I believe it is not the school that is bad or does not help the student; it is the student them self. Every school will have the good and bad, but it is what your student does when they are in high school that will mold their future. It was not easy for both my daughters but if I had to do it over I would still have them attend NOGALES HIGH SCHOOL.
I Believe Nogales high school is marching towards success. The Principal Dr.Padilla is doing a great job. Ensuring we the students today are the leaders of tomorrow. And I recommend this school to every interested parent out there.
I'm a student attending Nogales High and now becoming Senior. Everyone has there own opinion about Nogales, which most people say its a horrible school because of the previous years of bad behavior. Now you can hear my opinion because, I'm behind the books and students and parents are the only opinions that matter. I have a good record substaniable from a 3.0-4.0 year round. I love most of the teachers here at Nogales they go out of there way to help the students. I would really want to thank Mr. Padilla, Mr. Woodside and Mrs. Weber. They have helped me threw my down fall. My opinon about the New principal, me personally I dont like the way she spend's the money we have? We have some computers that are older than me. I mean come on I think u should ask the Students what they want?
The morale at this school is horrible among the staff. We strive to bring the best to our students every day but the adminisration has worn us out. Our staff does the best with increasingly limitted resources even though we are forced to implement programs that aren't really in the students' best interests. Our principal, Dr. Padilla, is obviously a short-timer she won't be here much longer but sadly we will be left with the results of her short-sighted agenda. Parents, communicate with the teachers as much as you can. We sincerly WANT your children to succeed and will do what we can to accomplish this.
Continue... Since I'm a science student at this school, I notice the science classes this school lacks--oh and don't forget astronomy. I am also aware that this school doesn't offer AP european history. However, this school has an excellent spanish language program, yet lacks in other langauges. The languages this school offers are spanish I/II/II/AP/IB/Lit; French I/II/III/IB/AP; Tagola I/II; mandarin I As you can see, this school does not have a strong language program overall. We need well-rounded/academic students to come to this school to make this school a better place, but I believe the limitation of the classes offer prohibits the incoming of much more excellent students. (Along with the lack of communication and biases of the school district that this school resides, they look down to this school and ignore the problems this school have (as if Nogales doesn't exist) and say they provide 'academic excellence'--hypocrites)
This school has a great Principal Dr.Nancy Padilla. She has made Nogales a school of success!!!
The only reason why the school looks so bad is because unmotivated students are often the focus. Sadly, their troubles tend to mask the excellence of those who are motivated. The teachers are great and support all students who want to learn and show that good students come out of a school with as bad as a reputation as Nogales. These teachers really do get on your case if they notice your grades are faltering. As annoying as it may be to the students, it really does shape them into improvement. In all honestly, Nogales doesn't deserve it's bad reputation, but neighboring districts often give the population this impression without primary sources. It's art program is one of the best in southern California, the band/colorguard competes nationally and wins, and the boys basketball and soccer teams made CIF.
