The Springstone School is wholly and completed focused on students with learning issues. As such, it is a complete - and for us, VERY welcome - breakaway from the relentless "inclusion" model in school districts. For my child, inclusion did not work; he developed psychiatric symptoms after 2 months in typical classroom with an aide. For kids like this, whose learning potential is great but who cannot learn in a school with 300 or more students, The Springstone School is an ideal placement. It is small - only 8 kids in a classroom. The teachers are excellent, and they love the connection and difference they can make with such small groups. Their "Access" program is a huge differentiator for this school. It leads the students into community activities, into safe behaviors on public transit, into volunteer service that exposes them to career options - that program alone is a gigantic plus for students with learning issues. My high school senior is now traveling independently and without fear on any public transit available to get to a part-time job and volunteer gigs. We have confidence in his future success and attribute much of that to the school. Thank you, Springstone!

I agree with prior reviewers, and would add that the school setting is beautiful, sharing property with a church in a lovely wood building with big windows, nestled in among the trees and with a creek bubbling down the hill. The directors have a wonderful philosophy, unlike any other that I've seen (focusing on executive functioning, teaching process before content), and the teachers all have Special Ed degrees. They are able and willing to identify each child's needs, and address them. My 6th grader has been here only a couple of months, but we are excited and pleased with the changes in him (no more anxiety!) We have dropped out of the rat race, and couldn't be happier. The irony is that our son is more engaged because we are here, in a small setting where he is actually able to concentrate on what they are teaching. Goodbye overachieving public schools, hello Springstone where my son can actually learn and grow as an individual without feeling overwhelmed. We are very, very pleased to be here.

The Springstone School is a special school for kids on the autistic-spectrum or with other neurocognitive challenges. A lot of the students have Aspergers and many also have anxiety. My own son has PDD/NOS which is like Aspergers and anxiety plus panic attacks. Springstone has helped him so much! The teachers are wonderful and really understand him. In public school which he attended until 8th grade, he got all A's and was skating along but all of the things he needed help with were not addressed (social skills, extreme shyness, developing independence and life skills). Springstone has helped him with all of these things and he has come a long way in the time he's been there (almost 2 years). It's a great school and I highly recommend it.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
