I could not dislike a school more if I wanted to! I have 2 students who (must to my dismay) attend this "school". I cannot wait until the school year is over! MAKE IT END! Nobody speaks English, and heaven forbid they be on TIME for anything! I cant even count on the teachers to pick my kids up on time OR show up for that matter! I have seen the interactions the staff has with students and I am APPALLED! They don't treat the kids like KIDS and rather like objects devoid of feeling! They withhold important information from parents and HOUND you about tons of meaningless nonsense! The only times I have been forced to speak with members of the staff I have to listen VERY hard to translate or decipher what information they are trying to relay! Most of the time when I am picking up or dropping off my students there is POLICE posted everywhere, NOT very reassuring! I will NEVER let my children attend this place ever again! I suggest you find another school as well!

My kids go to this school. I hate it the teachers blame their inability to teach correctly on budget cut. And when i step in as a parent the teachers get mad and take it out on the children. My daughter has been working hard and i am even paying for a tutor for her and i got her report card and the teacher can not even recognize that she has improved. Hate this school cant wait tell school year over to take my child out of this school.

The school has 95% non-English speaking students (Hispanic). The kids have to learn two languages. How can they be good using English books,if it is not their home language? It's harder. The office workers are very nice, and try to be helpful. The teachers work hard to teach the non-English population. Thank you Machado teachers! You are super!

All 3 of my girls went to Machado and, although it was several years ago, I appreciated all of the teachers' hard work.

I was also afraid to let my son attend Machado because of what I had heard. I was so wrong. Mrs. Forseth is an amazing principal and the teachers really care about the students. My son is now in third grade and I continue to be impressed and grateful that he goes to Machado.

I was scared to put my daughter in this school becuase of what I heard. I love the fact of how every teacher and staff make learning fun and exciting! THe involvement of the staff and the principle is wonderful. THey make sure each student knows to get to school on time, thier responsibilities, homework, and etc . Also the are no problems with the spanish and english speaking. Any child that is behind has a special helper help them along so the other children stay afloat. This school has so many outside activities for the whole family, which parents attend to. Please look into this school more and find the positive facts not the negative opinions. This school has finally stepped up, since they have a couple new staff aboard. I will continue to put my daughter in this school. Im a proud mother and member of the PTA!

I had my daughter at this school from K-2 and it was horrible! The kids are bullies, I can relate to other parents on this matter. The principal and teacher did nothing! I had her transfer to Rice Canyon best school! I would completely check the teacher if your child goes to this school becaue i must say there are a selected few.. out of the 3yrs my daughter was attending this school I only had 1 wonderful teacher who was there to do his job! Other than that oh my it was a horrible experience and yes I belong to that school but never again will any of my children attend this school. May I add that my child is very smart and recieves A's and B's! She was bullied at this school and last year was even falling behind. She herself would tell me the teacher would fall asleep!

I have had one child go all the way through Machado and another going through Machado now. I can say the only reason they have made it through is because they are very bright young ladies. There are only a select few and maybe only five really good teachers in this school if you are lucky to request them and know who they are, so please look into this school close, long, and hard, before you just except what they try to sell you.

This core student base of this school is very heavily non-english speaking Hispanic with accompanying resources and involvement nearly wholly geared toward servicing these students/community. It is an 40 yr old school with very committed teachers that has had the surrounding neighborhood decline greatly around it. Heaven help you if you have a child with special needs or a physical disabilty, because this district offers little and denies responsibility for the rest.
