Lakeside Middle School (LMS) is a science and performing arts-themed school that provides students with amazing opportunities. The school has one of the top middle school Show Choirs in San Diego County, as well as music, dance, and theater programs. Students are encouraged to tap in to their creative side to develop fully.
It's unfortunate to have to move after being only here 2/3 years of my middle school life. Why? Because this school has delivered with every subject include an advanced class. Sports teams are excellent and the arts programs (including band/orchestra, drama, show choir, dance, art, ect) are abundant and turn up with amazing performances. The communication to parents include having Snapgrades and frequent emails. Teachers pay good attention to every one of their students, and many tools show up at LMS to ensure good test grades, such as Study Island. Good times, LMS, good times.
The staff is very friendly, caring, and understanding. These people really care about our kids.
I have been very pleased with the staff involvement at this school. The administration makes it a point know most all of the kids by name and the school has some phenomenal performing arts and sports programs for kids to get involved with and enjoy school! I feel like they really take the time to teach each child and the online grading program allows me immediate access to how my child is doing. I am looking forward to another great year!
I am very pleased with all the staff that I have met here. The principal & vice principal are very involved in what's going on and they're always walking around and keeping aware of what is happening at the school. They have always been willing to talk with me about any concerns I may have and were eager to work to make sure that my child has had the best education and middle school experience possible. I love this school!
I have had two children at LMS. I highly recommend the school. The school is not without its challenges and I encourage parents and community member to call and get involved with the school. None of our schools can really succeed without direct, local support. I have been welcomed on campus as an engaged parent willing to help in the classroom. My skills have been used to the fullest and I have had the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children other than my own. Call the school and get involved. Bring a friend, a retired member of the community, an older teenager who wants to give back.
My grandson just enrolled in LMS mid-year which isn't the best time to move a child. So far, he is very excited about the curriculum and the staff. He's excited also about electives he has to choose from.
Lakeside Middle School offers a high-quality education and an abundance of extracurricular activities for children. The variety of these programs (including sports, art programs, performance groups and academic clubs) is wonderful. Homework clubs and L.A.T.E.R. are available every day after school as well. These afterschool programs are an extension of the diverse academic program and are supported by the staff. The staff genuinely care about the children and the community they serve! The school and the PTA offer great opportunities for parent involvement during what is an often difficult stage for kids. I highly recommend this middle school!
This school has provided my grandchildren with amazing opportunities for a great educational experience. One child is gifted in the arts and has been able to have courses that showcase her talents. What a difference that has made in her life. The other two who struggle academically have had educational options that have helped them both academically and emotionally. The staff cares about kids and the administration supports a variety of afterschool programs in everything from athletics to the arts. This is a safe and nurturing place where kids can grow and learn and become productive lifelong learners. So glad our grandchildren were at LMS Thanks You!
Very mediocre school with almost no extracurricular activities. Little support for new kids. Large classes that are not very challenging.
