The teachers all seem to be devoted and dedicated to each child. The administration however lacks consistency and good judgement. Being a Christian school one would assume all administration would be required to demonstrate biblical qualities unfortunately they seem to bend laws and regulations to make things better suited for themselves. Especially at the jr/sr high school level there seems to be bending of state rules and regulations and a refusal to apply biblical teaching among the staff.

They have an excellent pre-school program, but the elementary school could use much improvement. The teacher turnover rate is extremely high which affects the stability of the school and gaps in learning for the students. the principal and administrators are pro business and not pro student and don't show genuine concern for their parents and students. They have an abused demerit system and practically no reward or merit system which is discouraging to young children. my child attended school there for four years and each year after kindergarten i wondered why I remained there until i finally had enough. my child attends school at another christian school and they absolutely love it. not to mention, i am now having to work harder with them to fill in the gaps in learning missed at AV Christian School. Absolute waste of money. Would not send my toddler there and would not recommend it to anyone else.

My son has attended AVCS for the past two years - having attended the first 7 years at another Christian school in the city. I fully believe in the school study curriculun, sports program and Christian directed education. His development has been a direct result of caring teachers and a productive and safe learning atmosphere. He has stated that the warmness of fellow students and teachers has been an important part of his feeling so loved at the school. I can appreciate the efforts of the administration and staff to introduce all of the students to Christ and develope a wholesome family campus atmosphere for all.

My daughter has attended the Elementary School for 3 years now going on 4 and I must say that my husband and I are amazed and we are very pleased with the academic and spiritual growth we have seen in our daughter. The teachers, principal and staff are very nice and they actually care about each student. The school does have strict guidelines but that is just fine with us. It helps our daughter to grow in many areas. We're looking forward to another great year at AVCS. GO AVCS! =]

This is a very good Elementary School. I love the academics, the strictness, and structure. There's alot expected from the students, which is good. It gets them ready for real life. Life's tough and kids need to learn early how to meet the challenges.

I can't speak for the Jr and Sr High, but the elementary school is super. I love the high standards and the excellent academics. Children need stucture and need to know what is expected of them. At AV they must meet the high standards. This school has been great for my kids!

The Elementary principal is organized and seems to stay on top of what's going on. He seems to have a genuine concern for each child. Most of the teachers are not only concerned about a child's academics, but also their spiritual growth. I love the structured/strictness in the classroom. Students don't run the classroom. The uniforms could use an overhaul. Sometimes things don't seem too organized in the office. But, overall, this is a great elementary school. I feel blessed to find this school for my children in their elementary years.

The jr hi/hi school has gone down hill with very bad management. But, my 'Excellent' rating is for the elementary. The elementary is very organized and structured! Students are taught to be disciplined, with negative and positive consequences. They excel academically. The only thing that is difficult is the expensive uniforms. Most of the teachers are loving and caring toward the students.

This was a great school when both my children were in the elementary. The Jr High /High School are poorly managed. I never thought a private school would become so politically correct. Sad. My son will definitely go to a different school next year, my daughter may or may not finish out elementary. It is too bad a good school has gone so far down hill.
