This school is either ill-equipped or just doesn't care to approach bullying and students groping other students appropriately. For nearly two entire school year's my child has been bullied by their peers and every time it is reported, the students are talked to and released back to class. They then go right back to what they were doing. Some of the teaching staff is truly great, but it doesn't make up for the lack thereof of the rest of the faculty. Tests scores are well below state standards and are actually dropping yearly. If there was a better school nearby I was transfer my student, but there isn't even another middle school in the district, let alone a better school nearby.

I have attended this school for 1 almost 2 years now,the staff their is great & ask u if something is wrong because they care about what's going on with your life.They also make sure that the students stay on track...we have some really friendly people attending & if you are new sure we'll be glad 2 show u around, it also has sports,tutoring, & extra curricular activities.They do what ever they can to help every student pass Jr.high even the kids with the worst grades can change with a little support & effort.

This school does not offer much advancement for thoes students who are highly gifted. As, a mother of a student who is Highly gifted, I have found it difficult to get the right classes for my daughter. Most of the teachers I have come in contact with are great, it is just that the school does not have the resources it needs to help these children excell above and beyond what is currently offered.

i was a student at cole for my three years of middle school. all i have to say is that those years were not wasted. i had the time of my life there, and the satff was really cool. i miss that school so much. i graduated from cole this summer, yet i miss it so much; i loved the teaching techniques of my teachers and i loved the programs there too.all in all, i think it's a great school

As a student i loved this school the 3 years i was there although the teachers and staff are not so nice the students are the best it is very fun being a student. Also cole is showing signs of improvement with the staff. For me this school was the best because you can have fun and learn at the same time.

Since the arrival of the new principal there has been a dramatic turn around for the better. He is committed, caring and available to studets, families and staff. He has an understanding and respect for the community he works with.

I have been teeching at Cle for the last year and a half. The school has been going through some administative changes that have worked for the better. Disciplinary rules are being enforced, which have made teaching possible compared to las year. Both the administrration and staff are working together to make this campus a safe place for students to learn.

I have been a parent at Cole for three years. I have seen a number administrators and teachers come and go. I think Cole is on the right track. The principal seems to care about the kids and the techers are doing a much better job than last year. I jsut wish the kids would be more respectful.

This is school doesn't care about the children at all. Once they are in trouble, they try to kick them out because they don't have the patiences to work with them. The teachers are rude and so are the principals at that school. Please don't take your child to that school!

This school is ok I've been here all three years . my only problem is the sports area (it doesn't seem big but) they do ok supporting the sports except cheerleading we have no support from the school administration or district. I feel that if they don't support the 'school spirit leaders' then they don't really care soon the other sports might start to drop. Besides the sports I would not send my kid there unless I didn't care about their safety.

I'm a new 7th grader at Cole.I like the school.I have awesome teachers and classes. According to my math teacher, last year there were only a little teachers and most were substitutes. I don't know why that happened, but there's a lot of teachers there now.

I am a new teacher at Cole. The administration is under a major overhaul and policies are being enforced much better. It will not be an overnight solution, but I can certainly tell you things are getting better!

Worst middle school in AV with to many problems with staff and students. I pulled my kid out of this school to home school myself and would not recommend sending any child to this school. This school did not make adequate yearly progress in 05-06. School is in need of total administration overhaul. School has it's own rules and regulations to suit them and not parents and kids.

I go to cole and the kids literaly rule the school. Cole middle school is going down hill luckily im about to go onto 9th grade so this is my last year here. I wouldnt put my kid there.

They had a shortage of teachers when iwent there and i didn't have a homeroom teacher till the very end of the year. There were numerous fights and only one secerity gaurd, but he did his job well. Cole, with the exception of some incedents is a good place to learn and have a variety of sports avalible.

I was at first very pleased with this school. I have since became very disappointed. The school has a code of conduct and certain standard that they set and are supposed to go by but they also have the desire to change at any time.

I love the fact that this is a NASA school. I dont like that fact that they only offer 4 sports for the kids to play. My kid is one that needs to be in sports, but I can't afford to put him in outside school sports. Hopefully you will add more soon. Other than that, I like this school so far (son just started 6th grade).

About the tests


In 2011-2012 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

The different student groups are identified by the California Department of Education; if there are fewer than 10 students in a particular group in a school, the state doesn't report data for that group.
