So here I am in 2012 ... writing another review! It's been eight years since my family enrolled at Sunnydale. I say "My family" because this place has been more than a school to us. All three of our children have attended this school ... and ALL three of our children are 4.0 (straight A) students. The Teachers and staff have done a wonderful job. The opportunities for parental involvement have always been there. We accepted.Over the past eight years I have met three principals, multiple teachers and a multitude of students. All with the same mission of education and dedication to the children. Sunnydale has delt constructively with every hurdle that has presented itself and every teacher is open to working with parents for the betterment of the chld. The PTA has provided yearly field trips and assemblies for all the students at Sunnydale as well as a shop where kids can buy prizes with their "skyhawk bucks". Anually, "muffins with mom", "Donuts with Dad", "Fall Carnival,"Book Fair"&"Secret Santa Shop". We've had plays at LPAC, School performances and a yearly talent show.I will miss this school greatly, as it is "home". Remember, getting involved changes the experience for everyone!

My daughter currently attends Sunnydale. She tranferred there last year at the beginning of her second grade year.Extremely upset of having to transfer she just knew it was going to be bad year.Sunnydale proved us wrong. Not only is the faculty great but my daughter loves it.The only complaint I have is that their cafeteria doubles as the gym. -Jovan(proud parent of a Sunnydale student)

This school was a severe disappointment. After studying California's Education Standards, I found that there were many criteria that were merely glanced over, rather than taught. From what I have read, Sunnydale's overall academic performance has been poor. The authority figures and administrators are difficult to contact.

The teachers are great, and try to incorporate art but music gets little/none. PTA is struggling with little parental support. Students mostly just get by.

My son and daughter both attend Sunnydale. My daughter is in Special Education and has a wonderful teacher. I have been impressed with both the Speech Therapist and the Principle. I do have concerns about the behavior of some schoolmates on the playground and how efficient the duty aides are at controlling bad behavior. I would like to see P.E , art and , music available to the students. Research has shown that having music, art and P.E helps raise test scores. I think some changes need to be made at Sunnydale to ensure that the children are receiving the education they deserve.
