Sacred Heart Catholic School priciple, David Schatz, is a dedicated and talented leader and roll model. The education criteria he and his staff have developed meet the highest standards imagined. It's an honor and privilage to support such an outstanding school.
A+ for Sacred Heart School. I have been with Sacred Heart School for many years and have observed the changes that have taken place with the new administration several years ago. Thank you to our principal who is very professional, patient, fair, and very caring when dealing with everyone at the school. We love our principal who is very supportive to al of his teachers, parents, and students. I like to make my own child responsible for their actions and never blame the school or the administration. It is my child's responsibility to follow the rules at the school that pretain to all of the students and families. Thank you Sacred Heart for caring about my child and bringing to my attention anything that I need to be aware of to make my child successful with their future. Our principal's educational background really shows each and every day! I'm a very proud parent of one of the top schools in the nation! I love how visible our principal is and can talk to him anytime!!!
Sacred Heart School is #1 again year after year producing the top incoming freshman into our area high schools. The recent negative comment about a parent who states that there is average teaching and a lack of quality education... Well, I'm totally confused as an extremely proud parent of our awesome school! So, is someone tryng to tell me that with a championship sports, academic, and performing arts program that is extremely successful year after year is average and lacking a program??? Sorry!! Traditionaly, SHS has been at the top in the Mathlete and Decathlon competitions, producing the highest ITBS standardized tests results in the AV and San Fernando Valleys, and a lot of our 8th grade graduates are in advanced high school classes. SHS teachers, some with their MA's, average 16 years of teaching experience. Where else are you going to find a school with an enrollment of 300+ students with 23 faculty and staff members? So please, STOP your negative comments about our amazing academic environment that my children excell in and where everyone else sends their children to do the same. God bless!
This school has been a huge disappointment. Quality instruction definitely lacking. Teachers do not discuss, explain, or model. Parents must reteach or hire tutors. Students at the front of the bell curve do okay but most others struggle. Principal seems oblivious to what is really going on, and the teachers are protected. Parents do not have a voice at this school. The environment in the classroom is good; however, favoritism can be a problem. There is bullying and "mean" behavior at this school, as there would be at any school. There are definite cliques among the parents at this school, and you are stuck with these same people for several years. Many families are unhappy but won't complain or leave.
I don't think the current principal is to blame for the problems that exist at this school. They started with the previous administration. People have been unhappy for years and hoped that it would all be fixed by getting a new principal. He is trying but he only has so much to work with. The good environment beats public school any day of the week so people stay there, even if the teaching is average.
Principal is not up to the standard of this school. Other than that, this is very good school. Morals are taught and students are held to the high expectations.
This is a wonderful school. High quality education is exactly what the students are recieving. Students seem to have a great sense of ethics and strong moral values.
Great High School Prep School. Students are welcomed by the high schools with open arms. They are well prepared with a thorough curiculim.
Sadly this school has lost much of the spirit that made it special for so many years. A new principal with the wrong focus and lack of strong leadership has made the education and environment unwelcoming. Familes are leaving the school disheartened by recent changes. It is a true shame.
This is a truly special school community. The faculty really knows the children and their families. I am especially happy with the faith formation my children are receiving...those involved with this school 'walk the talk'. We feel very lucky to be a part of it.
