A very full school, but also a great school, with great teachers and administration. The bad ratings I see here seem to be parental whining. My kid needs more. I get it, but it starts in the home and as a parent it needs to be on you to help your child and be involved in their learning process. I know when my child was behind I was able to talk with the teachers and find out where they could use the extra help. This is MY job. The teachers have to deal with 30+ students and all their areas. An entire class should not be brought to a halt just for your needs. Let's put the focus back into parent involvement instead of expecting the schools to take on all the effort.
I had a child who is now in High School that went to LCES and excelled but this child is a good student without any need for help to get going. My younger child is currently enrolled in LCES and this school is greatly failing my younger child. My younger child needs an extra hand and really struggles in class and the staff is either unwilling or does not have the time to help. It has come to the point that I am thinking of pulling my younger child from this school. Such a disappointment as it is so hard to get into this school in the first place. You would think that the teachers and staff would want to help the children in need the most.
What a great disappointment! The problem begins at the top and flows all the way down. There is great apathy throughout and the principal is condescending at best. The school is overcrowded and the numbers on Greatschools are not accurate. They began combo classes and there seems to be no end to that plan.
Very disapointed in the education my children are receiving at Lincoln Crossing. We waited on pins and needles to get our children in and after 4 years have found that they are falling behind and the teachers and principal can't seem to do anything. The school has a great community - but is failing many children that should be excelling.
I am a grandparent of a child whom attends this school. I love watching the excitement in both my daughter & granddaughter, when they speak about all the events & how great all the teachers are there. I have work in several different elementary schools throughout Sacramento & Roseville areas. I was so impressed to see the safe, clean, caring & parent involvement into this school. When I compare this to some of the school sites, I work at I give this school an A+ .
School is overcrowed. My kids will have to be split up next year as my Kindergartner did not get in even though I currently have a child there. The Principle did NOT offer sibling priority for incoming Kindergartners. The school culture is such that they do NOT allow the kids to dress up at all for Halloween and the kids are not allowed to talk above whisper level in the lunch room. My GATE student is not challenged at all. RUN don't walk to another school district.
