There is a new principal so hopefully some things will change including attitude. It is a school with great possibilities but has been hampered with problems that perhaps now will start changing.
I'm very unhappy with this school and the Lompoc School district as a whole. I feel the kids are not allowed to be challenged as individuals. My 2 kids enjoy their friends and teachers but they lack the discipline and challenges of everyday assignments in class. I don't feel my kids are challenged enough and the lessons and tests are too easy. Also the principal and office staff is not very helpful to parents and speak to the kids in a very demeaning manner. They should be more encouraging to the students and helpful to the concerned parents.
Miguelito is a great small comunity school. We drive arcross town and past three other elementary schools to get there evey morning and its worth it.
Miguelito is a school where every students is allowed to reach their full potential. Students are treated as individuals, and art and music are still appreciated in the classrooms. I wouldn't send my child to any other school.
Miguelito is an amazing school. My daughter attended from K-3 and we had a wonderful experience every year. The teachers are very hands on and take time to help and encourage each child. One of the greatest assets of this school is that each child is encouraged to work at his or her own level. We moved this year to a new town and the school and all the teachers will be greatly missed.
Difficult to find care for kids during the frequent breaks for this and any year round school.
