This school is awesome. all three of my kids have attended and have excelled way past their cousins that go to public school equivalents. The teaching method is hands down the best way for our children to learn. I LOVE the teachers. They really do care about what they do, and know how to tap into each childs imagination. Im pretty sure i know the parent that gave a 1 star rating. im sorry that you have a overbearing grandmother and mother trying to be teachers themselves. Sorry, but theres a reason why this school has been around since 1975. we have two brand new schools closer to us that have all the modern conveniences of technology, chefs, everything that we thought we would love our kids to have. in the end, the thing they lacked was warmth. genuine teaching that a teaching method that gives our kids the sense of independence, community, confidence, and a thirst for learning. spend a day with your child and observe. Its not day care, its a place where our kids excelled beyond our expectations. Trust me, i was brought up in a LAUSD system and am thrilled my kids are building a strong foundation. Thank you again Eureka Montessori.

I did not like the teachers at this school. When I first went to work for them, the owner (who is also one of the teachers) seemed rather odd. She didnt like when the parents showed up unexpectantly or unannounced, which I thought was very odd. Most schools have an open door policy so the families woud always feel welcome. She did not let or want the kids thinking for themselves. Water intake was always being monitored outside, the children were not allowed to drink at anytime. She was very controlling and wanted things done her way. In my opinion children need room to make mistakes so they can learn from them. She didn't want that, she wanted things done her way and on her time, and if it wasn't, it was forced. Thats not teaching, thats demanding and Controlling. I ended up quitting because she wanted to control me as well and belittle me. That was not going to happen.

My son has been attending preschool at Eureka Montessori since 2010. The school is great. It is a truly caring and nurturing environment. My son's social skills and language has blossomed immensely since he started attending Eureka Montessori.

This school is a true gem. The staff are dedicated and sincerely want your child to succeed and be confident young people. The students and parents are treated with respect and as individuals. They think outside the box and strive to find how each child is unique and how to help them thrive. My oldest son has been there for three years and having just turned 5 is ahead of public school K level. They also have a fun summer program where the learning and play continues.

My husband and I are teachers in LBUSD. Both of our children attended this school and are still at the head of their classes in reading and mathematics in the public schools. The staff is wonderful. It's the kind of school we think about in the 'good ole' days'. I highly recommend!

We are glad we found this school for our son. Nice and safe location. The administrators and teachers are very supportive, caring and flexible not to mention the great method of teaching and discipline. It is also a fun and loving environment for youngsters. Being our son's 1st school, they made us all feel comfortable and pleased from day 1. They keep you in the loop with your child's progress, strengths, weaknesses and gives suggestions on how to improve on these weaknesses at home. We could already see our son's progress in only 3 months with his reading, writing and independence. One thing I will not forget is when our son at 4 recited (memorized) a mother's day poem. Would definitely recommend this school especially for young toddlers.

Wonderful environment for youngsters. The teachers and administrators really care about the kids and the kids' education. My kids are thriving and have a thirst for knowledge that the school is ready and willing to fulfill. We had been to other schools before that it was obvious that the children represented only a check. I have a 4 yr old and 6 year old and they both are doing well beyond the public school level.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

Oops! We currently do not have any student information for this school. We rely on the state Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), and in some cases school administrators such as registrars and principals for this data.
