This school has a lot of safety issues, bullying and narcotic use is high. The principle and its administrative staff are unprofessional. Academically thee school is great, the school would be much better if they got rid of their current administrator and placed new ones. Also they would highly benefit from an on-site police officer

This school has prepared me for the acedemic levels I plan to reach. I'm in the PLUS Program, and it has gave me an idea of how hard it will be once I get to college. But here are still improvements this school needs. To name one of them there is a wide amount of trash on the school grounds than usual. The students are to blame partly but the tachers are to blame too. They have to be more strict on the students. The trash has gotten so bad that almost every day after lunchtime, there is so much trash on the ground thet the seagulls come down and try to get a bit of what the students left over and didn't throw away. I hope it gets better and people actually think about whats going to happen if they don't throw away their trash properly.

Stephens is a fame magnet school. It has the most electives provided. Like art, dance, yearbook, Spanish, AVID, chorus, orchestra and etc. We also have electives that no other school has like steel drums and video production( where kids produce there own movies and run the broadcast). Also Stephens was the first and only middle school to establish a YMCA Youth Institute. If you want a good education you can get it. If you want help then you can get tutoring. Stephens is very diverse and that's what I like about it. Yet there are those immature students who chooses to fail, but that's like all other middle schools. Also I forgot about the great technology that the school provides, with two computer labs filled with brand new computers open after school for tutoring, researching, and working on projects. Go Jackrabbits!

My daughter has been attending Stephens Middle School in the 2004 - 2005 school year - Grade 6. She loves it and I love it. The key is parental involvement in all school activities, and the child to ensure all is going well. My daughter is in the PLUS program designed to prepare their minds with the concept of college now, and host of important lessons necessary for growth. I am getting ready to send my son, and I am excited for him and so is he, because he has seen the success of his sister. The key is parental involvement in your child, your child's school, and their teachers.

My daughter was a 6th grade student at Stephens in 2002-2003. She had the worst school year of her life, socially and academically, and is still upset by the experience to this day. Some of her teachers were mean and parent hostile, and there were more than enough schoolyard bullies around. On Back to School Night, a few of her teachers didn't even bother to show up. She is currently at her home residence school and the difference is like night and day. Her grades improved and she has nice friends. I hope this school has improved under the new Principal; however, I would send my other child to a private school before allowing him to step one foot on Stephen's campus.
