The principal is the one who makes the school, which in turn helps the teacher follow in his steps of leadership, proffesionalism, enthusiasm, caring, considerate, ambition to teach, but most importantly to want to help kids become better for their future. The parents get encouraged as well when a principal is a true leader, so it motivates them to also become better parents with their kids, like the reading log, it encourages parents to spend quality time with their children while learning at the same time. I am proud to mention Tincher as the school that my child attends, thanks to Principal Vogel which is definitely a top 'A' principal and I hope he never leaves the school otherwise, I may follow where he he is.
I love the program at Tincher. This school was recommended by a friend and I am very pleased with my child's progress. The staff is friendly and open to suggestions and the school has really great events planned throughout the year.
I was nervous about the Long Beach Schools, but have had a great experience at Tincher the last two years. My son had wonderful teachers in Kindergarten and first grade. The office staff is helpful and nice. The playground monitors like the kids. A lot of them are parents of pupils. I have a great feeling of community when I am at the school. The PTA sponsored the Meet the Masters Art program this year which I enjoyed helping out with. I got to meet some teachers in the upper grades by teaching in their classrooms. Definately get involved in the PTA and help us help our children and teachers!
I am the grand parent of two GATE/TOPS students at Tincher prepatory and have greatly approved of how this special curriculm is helping to meet the needs of my grandchildren. Though not perfect, I am pleased to see the help from teachers, principal, and counselor in meeting their needs. I also have seen the positive impact of the 'school within a school' has on the children with the clustering of a smaller group that have classes together every year. Also, the special opportunities are not even usually available in private schools. With the addition of a rich cultural diversity the education at Tincher is a unique, rich, andcaring educational environment.
My son attends a special day class for mild autism and I can not believe how wonderful and supportive this school and the staff have been. When my son is mainstreamed into the regular classroom I will keep him at Tincher.
I've had children going here since 1994-95. Our principal, since '97-98, has made a wonderful difference. Seems to be supportive of teachers, likes parent envolvement, my kids really like him, I have found him to be accessible. The whole supportive staff are wonderful. I had an opportunity to enroll my kids in another school, but choose to stay. I am very happy with the quality of the teachers. The parents that I have dealt with are terrific.
