As a parent of two current Saint Anthony High School, I cannot say enough great things about this school. My children have had a wonderful experience at this school, and have had opportunities at this school that they never would have had at any of the overpopulated schools in the area. If you are looking for a solid education and a High School where every child has the opportunity to shine, you could not ask for a better experience for your child. The faculty and administration are available to answer any questions or concerns. This has been a wonderful opportunity for my daughters

I have a child that will be entering her junior year at SAHS and have two other children that will be entering as freshmen. This school has continually strived to be better every year and has had good success in doing so. They continue to attract the top students in the area because of their second to none scholarship programs. This coming school year, in partnership with the Aquarium of the Pacific, they added the Marine Science Academy to their curricullum.

You would hope that Long Beach, the 5th largest city in California and 35th largest in the nation, would have a great private high school for your children to attend. For several years the school had been on the decline, and nearly shut down a few years ago. Last year, the school received over $2 million in funding from benefactors, and spent virtually all of it on new paint, computers and other tangible assets, so the school looks very nice. However, the visceral problems of poor quality instructors, zero supervision of staff and very low standards of educating, continue to fester at St. Anthony. The school and its leadership demonstrate very little accountability to students and parents alike.

I am an alumni and a current parent of SAHS. My son had many schools to choose from but he chose SA. I have seen him grow from a shy, timid child to a young man willing to stand and give his opinion. I compliment the teachers, staff and administration for all their effort to keep this prestigious school alive. My son is a better person for attending and being involved in the activities. Ms. Barr, the principal and Mrs. Rushing, the president have done so much to improve the school. The tradition, spirit, and academic challenges are at SA. I would recommend students to attend be open to other opportunities than the norm. Grow, live, and learn... that is what I have seen my son accomplish this his first year.

St. Anthony is one of those small area high schools where, given the small class populations, the relationships between the student, the teacher, and the parent are very strong, and foster the development of that student. This is an environment conducive to excellence and consistency.

A great invironment for a kid to develop in, even if not a roman catholic. This was a great high school that had the most friendly people I have ever met. I loved this school, and I'm not even a christian.
