Our family experienced Placer Elementary for the first time this past school year, and we loved it! We felt safe, loved, and educated. The teachers, administration, and office staff are wonderful. We are looking forward to the fall!
We specifically moved to the Loomis School District 7 years ago so my children would enter Placer for Kindergarten. My twins are currently entering 6th grade and my youngest 3rd. Each year, each teacher and grade has been a wonderful experience. I moved my children from a private school to this public school and couldn't be more pleased with their academic performance. The K-8 environment is very community oriented. The older grades are encouraged to mentor or "buddy" with the younger grades. With all the budget cut backs, no one would know with the way Placer has adapted. We have a fabulous music program, a strong PE curriculum and drama department. The opportunity for parental involvement from assisting in the classroom to an enthusiastic PTC, really makes Placer a FAMILY school. Every teacher and staff member is committed and caring. You feel that from your first visit to the school office and meeting Mrs. Bergstrom to working with our principal, Mrs. Cowles.
Our child started at Placer in the 2006/2007 school year, she is now going into the fifth grade. She is the second child that we have had in Placer. Sometimes she has attention problems, however the teachers have all been understanding and have been outstanding with her. The principal and and school staff are wonderful with all the students that attend here. This is the one of the best schools in our district. We are very lucky to have such caring teachers and parents in this area.
When our first child attended Placer school some years back the teachers and staff were great but the principal was a prevaricating jerk. Our second Placer student is in 5th grade and we fortunately now have one of the finest principals, greatest teachers and support personnel in the entire state. Parental involvement at Placer is phenominal which reflects the dedication and quality of the leadership and staff.
This school is the best in the Loomis Union School District. The principal is positive, professional and dedicated to the safety and academic achievement of her students, as well as being supportive of her teaching staff. The teachers are positive, progressive and enthusiastic professionals. Most of the parents are involved with the school, support the educators and reinforce learning and behavior goals at home.
I love Placer School because it's a positive, caring environment with good leadership and dedicated teachers. The parents are involved in school and partner with the teachers and children to make our school a great place to be. Our students are great kids who continually strive to be better in academics and character, as do the educators at our school. Even with 11 additional unpaid furlough days, the staff gives time and energy to be there for the students. The parents support their children and teachers by being in the classroom or assisting with classroom work or sending in prizes for the children or even leaving the teacher a small gift of encouragement. It's a very positive and caring place to be with honest, caring, ethical people of strength and integrity. The focus is on children and their success -- not politics and not power.
I have 2 children attending this school, and they are absolutely thriving. This is their second year, and the teachers they have worked with have been terrific. The teachers have really shown a concern for the students; make them work hard, but not waste their time; and the kids really like coming to class.
This school is incredible. I'm a bit shocked at some of the negative reviews. If I had a choice of schools in the Loomis District, I would 100% stay at Placer.
I love the country atmosphere! A Principal who set a better example for the students would do much to improve the schools quality. Many teachers have years of experience and are super!
It's a wonderful school except for the complaints about the Principal.
