I have sent two kids K-6 through Loyola and absolutely think the school is great. Kimberly is a wonderful principal and has an outstanding staff. The kids are challenged and the teachers are so motivated and just darn wonderful. They prepare the kids for Junior High (my oldest has had high honors at Junior High since inception) and provide a rounded curriculum with music art computer coding and the basics are covered as well. Although they are important I have never thought the school was all about tests, they just ask that your child eat a good breakfast and get extra sleep on test weeks. The school also cares about making kind human beings, constantly talking about bucket filling vs. bucket dipping, meaning being kind vs. hurtful and the majority of the kids there are good kids. At the same time my kids aren't overloaded with work and have time for extracurricular sports as well. I feel so lucky to have two kids that went there wouldn't have wished for anything different.

This school is all about test scores. The leadership is toxic. My daughter was picked on by teachers during her 5 years there because she didn't fit in the box they are building and was clearly uncomfortable with the saccharin emotional atmosphere. She was referred to 'resource' where the teacher there said she was too laid back for a school that he called "Stanford prep". Really? I thought it was a public neighborhood elementary school. Furthermore - the parents do a great job of running Project Cornerstone for the children, however the staff bully each other relentlessly. We moved out of district this year and my daughter is thriving. When I e-mailed the principal and school secretary that we were leaving - we recieved no farewell e-mail from the Principal who I can only presume was glad to see us go as we were taking up resources and not fitting in to her vision of the school and her career. No organization is all good or bad and there are some positive things about Loyola - wonderful caring parents and hard working students. It could be a great fit for you and your family - if you are looking for Stanford Prep.

Loyola School is a wonderful environment for children. They are taught about courtesy and perseverance in addition to all the necessary academics. Parents are very involved and make it possible to have art, music, and science programs run more smoothly.

This is our third year at Loyola so far all are fine. Quality of teachers varies some are wonderful some are not. Afterschool activities are offered but not the best. Parents involvement is a must which put pressure on the working parents.

Outstanding teachers. Dedicated to all kids. Music, art, sports available on a weekly (or more often)basis. Very high parent involvement. Great place for our kids to be. Besides academics, good moral character is stressed and educated.

We are very happy with Loyola. It is a very friendly school where the principal knows almost all of the children and parents by name. It has a good academic balance. While students are given challenging work, there is no drill and kill mentality. Through local and parent funding, the district can still afford professional music instruction, a staffed library, science instruction by a PhD, computer lab, and PE teachers. In the younger grades, projects are planned to include a combination of reading, writing, math, art and science. Basically the students are good kids with no severe discipline issues. Parent participaction is very high and is encouraged. Loyola is a great school.

Loyola school truly is a wonderful place to be. I attended Loyola from K-6 and found that it is a great learning enviroment for nearly all childern. School spirit is very high. Music is offered for all grade levels and instrumental music is offered in grades 5 and 6. P.E. and art are also taught throught all grade levels. Math has 3 levels in grade 6, two levels in grades 3-5 and 1 up until grade 3. Over all I find the teachers motivated, the prinicipal spirited, and the students happy!
