There's no such thing as a perfect school, most people on this website here look for the perfect one. But in reality, there are always problems and mistakes...everywhere. So I'm not going to say SFVA is a perfect school although it isn't, SFVA is a blessing. (continue reading, you must. it's long.) San Fernando Valley Academy is an Adventist (Christian) private school that has small amount of students and teachers that care about you like no other. We are basically like a big family. Everyone knows each other and looks out for one another. The most important thing you should expect from this school is Adventist education. SAN FERNANDO VALLEY ACADEMY HAS THE BEST CHRISTIAN EDUCATION IT HAS TO OFFER. In the high school, we have a fellowship time everyday just to focus on God. All grades learn about God, and in high school we have religion classes and religious events run by ASB. Knowing that we, a small school learn so much about God, help us in our relationships with each other and our own relationship with God. It strengthens our faith to conquer the real world with the gospel, and training your child to become an outstanding leader for churches and/or the world.

Low functioning educational program, and this is unfortunate. For the money paid for tuition, we families should be getting so much more from the school. My niece attended this school four years and "graduated" from SFVA. She was not prepared to do anything with her life, and did not get into any private or public colleges except for one, which will take basically anyone who applies and pays tuition in Arizona. When I look at my son's education, which he received at Granada, and hers, I feel so lucky I did not have this bad experience. My son had opportunities to go to college, even get a scholarship, because he was prepared. This was not the case with my niece, who lived with us. She thought school was boring and was never engaged by her teachers. The caliber of the kids is low. No gifted kids, no high achieving kids. Kids with learning problems whose parents pulled them out of public school thinking a small class would be better, but there was no academic support or good teaching methods used to help those kids. Very sad. They combine grades because they have such low enrollment. Take a look at the credentials and the teaching experience each teacher/principal has.

I am a former teacher, I have HIGH expectations for my children in school. I searched and searched for the right school and we found it! SFVA not only offers the most amazing teachers who care for your child's well being, their education but also for their spirituality, this was all I needed to see and I was sold! My expectations are being highly met. The principal seems to have a handle on things and gets the job done. It's not a huge school, but that's what makes it so great, you don't get lost in the shuffle, your child has a name and face and they are valued! We are looking forward to an exciting school year!

Don't even bother to inquire about the CDC program at SFVA! The director, Ms. Wesley, who is with the kids most of the day is overwhelmed, has no set curriculum, and does not keep the facility clean. She promotes pre-school agenda but does not deliver! My rating is based soley on the experience with the CDC.

If you're looking for a great christian education and a place where you can monitor your child's progress this is a great school. The teacher involvement with the students is great.

San Fernando Valley Academy is one of the finest schools in the San Fernando Valley. This school has very competitive teachers that keep a good comunication with parents about the student's progress. Only one thing that I do not like, there is not too much extracurricular activities to choose from
