My 3 1/2 year old has been at the school for about a year now, and we've been very pleased. After having a terrible time with a small, home Montessori school, this place was a delight. My son loves it, we've had no issues at drop-off (which we struggled with at his previous school). He's learned great social skills and self-discipline. Both of these are as important to future success as topical learning, which we have no complaints with that either there. When he wasn't wanting to sit at circle time at first, they were patient and loving with him. We appreciate the healthy, hot lunch option and the sugar-free environment. We and he also love the extra-curricular activities that are offered for kids who stay at afternoon care. We'd rather do other things on the weekends with him then cart him to soccer. After my previous experience, I thought child care and difficulty solving issues naturally went hand in hand, but at NWMS, my experience has been very different.

Student to teacher ratio good. Approx. 1 to 8 for pre K and K. Elementary ratio for grades 1-6 approx. 1 to 12. Very diverse group of children with good classroom emphasis on cultural differences around the world. Lots of individual instruction with fundamentals of reading, writing and math at the pre-K and K levels in a true Montessori environment (Teachers and aides are there to help guide the student and the students are free to move to various activities as their attention dictates). Many of the K level children read, write and do math above 1st grade level! Affordable extended 'before and after' school care is available. Extracurricular activities such as ballet, cooking, art, tumbling are available for additional fees that are based on month to month participation. High regards for quality of instruction and supervision provided by the school.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
