My son who is 34 months is in the youngest class - the Terrific Teddies overseen by Ms. Beck, an amazing teacher! My son has never loved going to school (daycare then) as much as how he would now in WVCS. It is the warm, fun and safe environment he's been accustomed to in the last 3 weeks. He's always excited to get up in the morning and see his teacher and classmates. I noticed also, that my son's language and social skills have improved a lot considering that is just 3 weeks into this school year. They have a very structured program. I also love how the teachers and staff interact with me on a regular basis and give feedback regarding my child's progress or just plainly how the day went for him. We wanted our child primarily to learn Christian values, and be in a safe and positive environment. You can expect highly from the school and the staff and be confident that you're child is in good hands and happy. I highly recommend West Valley Christian School.

West Valley Christian Preschool is a wonderful first school for your child! The love of Jesus and the love for children is apparant the minute you walk into any of the classrooms. The school teaches a well rounded curriculum including Spiritual, Academic, Social and Physical skills and really believe in doing it using Godly principles. Our fantastic staff will really make you feel like you are part of our family! We love our teachers and our school at West Valley Christian Preschool!

My two year old started last spring and so far we are very pleased. It was important for us to enroll our child in an institution that cares and has continuity; WVCS had both.

I'm on my 3rd child attending this preschool program and she's had the same preschool teachers that my 2 older ones had 6 years ago which goes to show you how low the teacher turnover rate is. The teachers have such big hearts for the children and they are truly dedicated to reaching each child's full potential. The teachers really enjoy what they do and because it is christian based they pray for every student they have in their class. There is no doubt the students at wvcs are in great hands. The co directors at wvcps have an amazing program and so many fun-filled events throughout the year. They too really care for every individual that walks through their door. The new principal Mr. Swales is doing a phenomenol job enhancing the academic program of wvcs. He has implemented many new programs and technology to make this school even better. We are so fortunate to be part of a school that really cares for the students and prepares them well when they leave this school.

The teachers, staff, and even the parents of students from West Valley Christian School-Elementary have made a profoundly positive and lasting impact on my family. Last year my son was in the hospital battling a rare circumstance and all throughout that painful process my family received constant support, encouragement, and prayer from WVCS staff, and even many of the parents, who unexpectedly volunteered to cook meals for my family to help lessen our stress load during that trying time. WVCS stood with my family as an emotional and spiritual rock until our toddler was finally released from the hospital and brought back home. My son's recovery was a miracle and the love and support from WVCS was equally astounding and healing. We are truly blessed to be a part of the WVCS elementary family!

We went to visit West Valley as we were not totally satisfied with my daughters preschool. We felt so welcomed the second we got there, and my daughter was saying instantly "I want to go here". I have been extemely happy with our desicion. I love this school and the staff are so caring and amazing! I feel completely safe having my child there and knowing she is having fun, is in a safe environment, and is learning.

We have had both our children in WVCS since they were in preschool. One is now at another school as a senior since West Valley only goes to 8th and the other is at West Valley in 6th. We are in love with the entire staff and have had a good relationship with each teacher our daughters have had. WVCS brought in a new administrator this year and the changes for the positive continue to astound us. We thought West Valley was absolutely the cats meow before and now it is even better. Our daughters are/were being challenged and now with a senior looking at college she has been accepted to every school so far including her second choice (still waiting to hear from her first choice). WVCS is not a perfect school and the staff is not perfect either but they all realize that they are not perfect and when we have had any issue arise they met it with humility and a true desire to correct it. WVCS is definitely a place to look at seriously for the education, care, protection and assisting in ...bringing up your children in the way they should go...

We Love WVCS... Our Son is going on his third year. He is currently in the Pre-K program. The teachers and the staff are so loving and caring. WVCS is more than just a school its a family. The children are academically challenged already learning how to spell in pre-k. Most important our son is learning about our Lord. They offer Extracurricular activities even for the preschool. Our little guy loves his soccer class. Its nice to see all the parents involved as well. The school is great about keeping the parents informed. When we moved to this area 3 years ago I prayed to find a good school for our son and we couldnt be more blessed. If you are looking for a loving and caring environment for your child to learn in then WVCS is the school. WE LOVE WVCS!!!!

My child has been there for two years and we are very happy we found this school. The staff is incredibly kind and caring. The school director is brilliant in terms of implementing new strategies for the school thus never making it dull. The school has a well balanced diversed curriculum. The students starting Kindergarten are exposed to Music, PE, Spanish, Computer and Library each taught in their own individual classroom. They also have a beautiful cafeteria with the best chef Mrs. Pam. The gymnasium is superbe as well. For our child this is the best home away from home!

My family recently moved to the West Hills area. Before moving, we contacted many preschools. West Valley Christian School is the one that impressed me the most. The teachers and director were incredibly kind and helpful. Right away they made us feel welcome. While giving us a tour of the school, my child had the opportunity to visit his classroom and classmates. He was so happy with the school that he didn't want to leave. His first official day of school he walked right in and waved goodbye. In the nearly three months since he started as WVCS preschool, he has grown exponentially both academically and socially but also spiritually. The staff is friendly and communicative. I know that as long as he is at WVCS he will be cared for and taught by the absolute best.

Both my children have been attending West Valley Christian School since they were 2 and 3 years old. They are now in 3rd and 5th grade and continue to absolutely LOVE school, their teachers, the staff and Dr. Lozano! Everyone is genuinely caring and the teachers always take the time to show they have the kids best interest. We are very blessed and grateful that our children are in a loving Christian and educational environment! WE LOVE WVCS!!

I have been affiliated with WVCS for almost 10 years now. I absolutely love WVCS - it's staff, it's administration, it's preschool - everything they have to offer is amazing! It is truly a blessing to have my children there. It's not just about teaching, but it's also about fellowship, caring for families (not being just another number), incredible teachers who love teaching and the children. WVCS lives out their faith and the love of Christ. I couldn't have been blessed with a more amazing place for my children!

We came from a charter school and I have to say that there is no comparison. The instruction materials, the way lessons are taught and the personal attention that my daughter and son are given here are like night and day compared to our previous place. The teachers and staff are professional, compassionate and really care about the student's success. Both my kids have gone from 'hating' school to begging us to take them early every day! That says it all!!

West Valley Christian School is amazing! I have never seen so many happy faces in one place before! The kids are friendly, the teachers are warm and caring, and Dr. Lozano is awesome. When I first came to WVCS, to check out the school, I was greeted by 2 older girls who asked me if I needed help. They not only showed me where the office was, but they walked me there and opened the door for me! Everyone you meet at this school has the same attitude of kindness. It truly is an amazing place for your child to get an incredible education. We love WVCS!

I am very pleased with West Valley Christian School. My daughter attends Preschool and she is 2. My daughter language and academics have flourished since she has been there. It's only been 3 months and she is singing her ABCs, Counting, Colors, and she rides a bike very well. I just love the teachers and the Director. It feels like a home away from home. Dr. Lozano even knows the preschool kids. Everytime we attend a fundraiser night my daughter runs to him. I get to talk to alot of the parents who have additonal children in the elementary and they love it.

"West Valley Christian School is different from any other school that I have gone to. Both of my children are there and they never want to go home. The most important difference at West Valley is how caring the teachers are. They spend individual time with their students and genuinely care about them. The administrator, Dr. Lozano, is a wonderfully kind man who knows each student and parent by name. My kids are challenged academically and nurtured spiritually. This is by far the most amazing school and I am so blessed to have my kids there.

My kids have attended since Pre-School and we have been very happy with not only the education but also how much everyone who works there truly cares about the children. I could have never imagine an environment where they would be getting a great education, love going to school, and be able to trust the students they meet and are involved with regardless of the grades. It has been an amazing experience for them and we are so thankful they can attend despite the fact that we are fortunate enough to live where they could go to some of the top public schools in Southern California! If you are considering or looking for a good school for your children or child , I would highly recommend visiting the campus and if you see a parent I am sure they would express the same excitement I have.

I am so happy with my children attending this school. I have been blown away by the high level of accountability displayed by the teachers, administration and staff. The curriculum and standards for the students are challenging. The teachers have a passion for teaching and care both about the academic and character development of the students. The students are nurtured and respected. My children have told me the teachers are so kind and making learning fun!

This is a superior school in every way. The elementary school teachers are all superb and put the heart and soul into their work and their students. They truly have a love for children (and the Lord) and are loved in return. We had to take our daughter out for a couple of years (due to finances), but have decided to bite the bullet and bring her back. We saw a change in her, being in public school, and realized that her spiritually welfare is most important! Besides, the tuition is affordable and with Dr. Lozano's leadership-I have no doubt that the school will continue to flourish.

As a parent of 2 students who have attended from preschool, my family has been forever impacted in a wonderful way. The preschool is sweet and fun, with lots of caring staff. The elementary has a wonderful variety of enrichment classes such as Spanish, music, PE, band, drama, art, library and computers. Each student has the opportunity to particiapte in ACSI activities such as the speech meet, spelling bee and math olympics. The elementary puts on a variety of musicals that allow the students to sing and act. Weekly chapels allow the students to learn more about Jesus in a fun and interactive way. Once my children hit 4th grade, they participated in a variety of sports teams. Now that they are in middles school, they are enjoying all of the fun of middles school sports, chapels and challanging classes. Dr. Lozano is wonderfully caring leader.

I am the proud parent of two children that both graduated from West Valley Christian School. Both continued in the colleges of their choice and have successful careers. We owe so much of their success to this amazing 'little' school that prepared them not only academically, but spiritually as well. Dr. Lozano is amazing and the school is so much better because of his incredible leadership and love for the Lord. If you are looking for a school that partners with you in every way than West Valley will be your school of choice.

After sending two children all the way through the Los Angeles public school system, with our third child my husband and I realized public high school was no longer a place to get a quality education. My son is now a junior at WVCS. The difference has been stunning. At WVCS the teachers are always available to answer questions or give direction to my son, they always respond promptly, and they want my child, and all their students, to do well. The office staff, administration, and faculty are extremely caring, competent, and committed. My son is getting an excellent academic education. He's also seeing integrity, compassion, and a commitment to excellence modeled daily by staff, faculty, and the student body. In every regard, he is surrounded by the right stuff. He's very happy at WVCS. It's an exceptional place to get a great education.

Three years ago, before we moved to West Hills, we made an extensive, months-long search for schools for our children. With many University of California alumni in our family, we constantly strive to emphasize the importance of education to our children. So we were thrilled to find West Valley Christian School, a college preparatory school with dual accreditation from WASC and ACSI! We enrolled our children here, and have been very impressed with this school ever since. The education here is academically strong and Biblically sound. The faculty and staff are competent, committed, energetic, and caring. Staff and teachers respond promptly to parental concerns. Students receive individual attention, rarely given in a larger, public school. Strong character values and morals are taught and exemplified. The atmosphere here is always positive, encouraging, and loving. I would recommend this school to all parents looking for a high quality education for their children.

As a parent, West Valley Christian is a dream come true. My daughter has attended this school since the 3rd grade and is now in the 6th grade. We have had nothing but positive experiences at this school. The teachers and staff are caring, motivating, wonderful paople. When you drop off your child in the morning you leave knowing they are in great hands. You are also confident that your child is getting an excellent education. From the office staff to the janitor you see people who love and look out for your children. Due to the fact that there is one class per grade, the children are like family. There is someone for everyone to pal around with. At least once a month my daughter says to me mom I love my school. To me, that says it all!

Now that Dr. Lozano is back WVCS is great. High school teachers are stronger than ever before. Two of the middle school teachers are WVCS graduates. My daughter can't wait to start high school next year. Academics are strong, Christian values are taught, discipline is tight. We love West Valley!

I've been a student here for junior high until I graduated high school and I'm going to be completely honest. I graduated in 07, was in the honors/AP program, and participated in every sport and club possible. I was on honors roll and principal's list and been at the top percentage of my classes every semester. I now go to a very reputable university, but it's no Harvard. This school is not bad, but it is not great either. It has its limitations and weaknesses, but is definitely better than public school. If you can afford something else better, such as Faith Baptist or Chaminade across the street, or even a magnet program, I'd say go there since a lot of people with higher standards go there anyway after a year or two attending WVC, so don't waste your time if you have those opportunities in the first place.

Putting my child at W.V.C.S. was the best thing I ever did! She gets a loving, caring staff that helps her get through the ups and downs of jr. high. They know and care about each and every individual and their families. I never received this kind of help with LAUSD! I thank God for this school and staff.

Strengths of this school are a caring community, safety and the low student teacher ratio which allows for individual attention. There are other private schools which promote their above grade level achievement. But at what costs? Hours of homework and busy work to overwhelm a child and their family is not at the heart of quality education. Educating a child requires heart and the desire to engage each student to their potential. Most of the teaching staff have both of these important qualities. I can honestly admit, not every teacher on staff is stellar. Yet, the small school environment allows administration to make quick changes to teachers that are not producing if necessary. A public school has too much red tape. If you are the unfortunate recipient of a poor teacher, you're trapped. This school is not for everyone but for those families that choose West Valley, it is truly home.

I believe in taking what I read with a grain of salt. I wonder at the closed mindedness of some of the parents who have written reviews that are somewhat negative. There is some truth to a little that I have read. One issue was about the math program. WVCS did identify an area of weakness there. I was very pleased with how it was handled. Issues such as this do not surface immediately, nor is there a magic wand to fix it immediately. Once discovered, the school took pains to identify the specifics, and has worked diligently to rectify the problem. Such actions take time. We all look for instant gratification when patience, support, and prayer are the best remedies. I have one child who graduated from WVCS, and another still there. My graduate had no problem being accepted at several colleges including her first choice school. My children were not star athletes, but no student is cut. All get the opportunity to learn. Sometimes they may spend a lot of time on the bench, but they practice and learn and often become the next year s starters. Our children were no exception. When they worked to EARN their spot as starters on the team, they truly appreciated it. These are opportunities they would not get at a larger school. The leadership opportunities abound! My children have had advisors who don t lead, but teach the students to lead instead. In addition, they attend leadership conferences to further teach these skills.

This school is like most schools-some strengths and some weaknesses that I have yet to see addressed. The former administration was excellent and I am a bit nervous with a new director. I am also very concerned about WVCS frequent teacher turn-over. This may be a good school for your child if he/she is an average student. If your child is above average or gifted, he/she will be very bored. Like all schools, this school is not perfect. I would encourage prospective families to tour the campus a number of times before making a decision.

We have 2 children in the school, currently in Elementary and Junior High, since Preschool. We feel that the environment is caring and loving while providing a solid academic foundation. The entire staff from Administration to teachers to support staff all truly love the Lord as well as the children and only want the best for them. The teachers have strived to provide individual education at each students level by splitting them up into learning groups when possible. Excellence is expected from the students and the students know they are expected to perform at their highest level.

My son has attended West Valley Christian since the age of 2 (9 years now), and has excelled in all areas there. He is a straight A student, participates in all sports, band and extracurricular activities and we have had the most positive experience each and every year. The individualized attention, loving Christian environment and opportunities to experience and participate many different things have inspired my son to be the best he can be in all areas. I highly recommend our school. It has been a blessing in our lives, safety wise, academically, spiritually, all around.

I've been a student at West Valley for a few years and my experience has been pretty good. It's a very small school (about 200 students for Jr/Sr High altogether) and it's also hard to fit with peers if you don't. Several pros about the school is the class size (more individual attention) and the extraordinary chapels that brings a renewal of faith each week. The cons are the tuition costs (depending on your budget), rejection from peers if you don't fit in, the lack of diversity, and carpooling required by the government and mandatory polo shirts. For your interest, the facility is a small, near 5-acre, K-12 campus with a church, a large lawn (not a sports field), and indoor gym. The campus is brand new and was built only a year ago with nice bathrooms and classrooms. Reading my honest review and touring the school is my best advice.
