I've had a great experience with this school. My daughter has attended this school from 1st-4th grade. I don't have any major complaints. The teachers have always been attentive and helpful. The only thing is that Ms. A always seems to be overwhelmed with work and kids. She needs an assistant. Kids and parents always seek her help. My concern now is the 42nd campus. I've heard bad things about that site, can anybody give me info or updates about that school?

My son just started this school and it was a difficult for him to stay. But the teachers all made him feel very comfortable and they were able to console him. It's a small school, I believe around 100 children. The lessons are clear and the teachers will talk to us everyday if we have questions; or they keep us informed of the progress of my son. Hopefully, if will continue to be a great school.

Celerity Nascent Charter school. This school is excellent. my daughter is about to complete her kindergarten year and I couldn't be more happy. Mrs Cervantes is a gem my daughter is 5 and she came home talking about pollutants, reading, and has surpassed all expectation. The dance teacher Ms. April and the office manager Ms. A are awesome. I really could not have asked for a better and more vigilant group of people to put my precious daughters care in. The only thing I would change is to get a better PTA the parents need to pump more money into the school and its kind of a tight space. But I LOVE this school my daughter is getting an excellent education by some wonderful people.

This school is excellent. They strive in challenging students across all subjects. I am amazed how my children have improved academically. The teachers my children had have been amazing. They offer excellent curricular activities to students, such as dance and yoga. They have high expectations for their students, and do give out a lot of homework. However, I don't see that as a negative. It may be tedious but in the end, students get use to having that type of responsibility.

My child has attended this school from the first day it opened. The one thing that I do have to say about the school is that the teachers and staff have always been the best to work with. My daughter struggled in her elementary school years but I always received a phone call or notice when things would get rough for her. Their 7th and 8th grade teachers are AMAZING!!!! To the point where my daughter loves going to school. loves helping out and has found a new found love for education. The small classes are perfect for her and I really wish they had a HS program considering this is her last year at the school. Only bad thing I could say is I wish they had more trips outside of school but I know that takes money and parental involvement. But as far as teachers go.. it's awesome.

Great school. The teachers work hard at helping the children achieve their goals. There is however a lot of homework pushed on the students just before benchmarks, which I found not to have helped one of my daughters. The extra work stresses her out to the point of tears for those days.

My son attended Celerity this year. I was disappointed as I was advised that this school has process and procedures for most things. What I have found is the school lacks processes, procedures and more importantly follow through. However, the teachers are great and they are what is saving the school from being considered a complete dump.

Celerity is a great school. It is fairly new so they had to work out the kinks. What I will say is that the administrators are sincere in their attempts to provide a quality education for the children in our community. I salute Celerity for their hard work an dedication to our children.

If you care about your child, do not send them to this school. The administrators are disorganized and unapproachable. They never have the time to talk to parents. The school will never improve unless the administrators change the way they run the school. My child did have a good teacher but seeing the disorganization in the school and lack of books my child's class, I had to pull out. The administration should look at getting one school right before opening more. It seems like they are only in it for the money and not the children which is really sad.

Despite the location of the school and the fact that it hasn't been around that long...I can't really say too much bad about it. at all. i mean, we all have our moments on different issues but they make sure that they are all worked out and handled in a professional manner that has the best interest for the student and the parent so that everyone is pleased and satisfied. rightfully. not just to appease you. Mrs. Ackinson, Ms. Nicola, Mr. Weathers-just to mention a few- make sure that school is rolling on a daily basis. They know what goes on at all times! Don't think that your child is walking out of that door...no way! I was concerned about that, at first, but i feel more comfortable there than where she is now! And she's in a better neighborhood! wow. sad.

this school is true disservice to our community. They have dumped teachers in our community that couldn't hold a job anywhere else. My daughter attended this school. I am so very glad she no longer no there. Disorderly, confused, and uninterested that is the profile of the staff as well as the students

My son graduated from Celerity last year. His entire 8th grade year at Celerity was well worth the snags here and there. Aside from recieveing late textbooks (which was understandable since it was the first year for 8th grade) and a early switch in math teachers, I was very pleased. The teachers and office staff, especially Ms. Gillis who teaches 8th grade English and History and Mr. Weathers the office manager truly care about those children. They work hard to motivate them and make them achieve at levels that children didnt even think was possible. Celerity also gave my son opportunities that he would never have gotten at another school. He participated in a United Nations project, he's an excellent public speaker now, he's very knowledgable on research and writing. He's gained vaulauble study skills. I applaud the teachers and staff of Celerity for a job well done.

Our first 2 years have been great. My daughter transferred in for 3rd grade and has just finished up the 4th grade. She was on the honor roll both years and just excelling in all of her courses. She's doing so much better than her last school where she was just lost in the system. She loves it here.

My son's first year was a wonderful experience. He had a caring, well-organized teacher as well as a caring and supportive staff. I was able to contact both his teacher and the principal easily and I felt my son was in a safe environment at all times. He will soon be entering 1st grade at Celerity and is eagerly awaiting to see who his new teacher will be.

About the tests


In 2012-2013 California used the California Standards Tests (CSTs) to test students in English language arts in grades 2 through 11; math in grades 2 through 7; science in grades 5, 8 and 10; and history-social science in grades 8 and 11. Middle and high school students also took subject-specific CSTs in math and science, depending on the course in which they were enrolled. The CSTs are standards-based tests, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of California. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the tests.

The different student groups are identified by the California Department of Education; if there are fewer than 10 students in a particular group in a school, the state doesn't report data for that group.
