Amount of homework: Agree

- a
The homework load is very manageable - there is no "busy work" and the kids do most of their big project work in school.

This school was a lifesaver for my son who was not thriving at his previous school (considered a top private elementary school on the westside). At Mirman he fit in both socially and academically - the opportunity for him to be with his peers, to be celebrated for who he is, and not pressured to conform, was transformational. Now he is a confident and mature teen (at a private high school) who has retained his love of learning and is an involved member of his school community.

Handles bullying effectively: Agree

- a
I do not think that there is a lot of bullying so I am not familiar with how they handle it - but imagine it would be effective.

Supports LD students: Neutral

- a
The school is for highly gifted students so to the extent that is considered a learning difference, then yes.

Effective school leaders: Strongly agree

- a
The Head-of-School is a visionary and passionate leader committed to making the school the best it can be.

Develops character: Strongly agree

- a
The kids are "nicer" and more respectful of their teachers and their peers than typical private school kids.

Teacher effectiveness: Strongly agree

- a
The teachers are trained to best teach this particular population and they are able to provide individualized education.

Handles bullying effectively: Strongly agree

- a
We haven't experienced any bullying personally. There have been a few students over the years who've been asked to leave as a result of causing harm to others. moat folks have been relieved that these students were disciplined appropriately.

Supports LD students: Strongly agree

- a
This school's mission is to serve highly gifted children and utilizes differentiated education to do so.

Effective school leaders: Strongly agree

- a
The Head of School is leading Mirman in an incredibly strong direction. He understands the important needs of the students that attend the school. He also has high expectations for their character. He's enthusiastic about sports, the arts, academics, and fun. Other administrators are also strong and passionate. Mirman has an incredibly strong future.
