This is a small school with high standards. Teaching values are priority in this school. Extra sweet and professional office staff. It is not as diverse as should be.

A wonderful school! I especially appreciate the small classes and the way that students are placed in classes that match their interests and abilities. There are plenty of clubs and activities and most of the teachers are excellent.

I am a NCJHS graduate and now that I am in college I realize how underprepared I was, especially in science and math. This school stresses morals and values, but most of my classmates had emotional issues. There are a lot of kids with special ed needs too. I begged my parents to send me to public school and now they are sorry that they did not because they feel we wasted my time and their money. Although the school pretends to care and to stress community, that basically works only for big donors or board members. The staff has no idea how to deal with kids and the administration is blind to all of the behavior and issues of the students. Go anywhere else.

Someone else wrote this last year and it seemed perfect to repost: "NCJHS is a caring school that teaches kids to think for themselves. It's small enough for everyone to know each other and large enough to have a feeling of a real high school experience. Great school trips too." I would just add that Dr. Bruce Powell is amazing and provides a top down leadership that supports his teachers in the above endeavor!

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
