Beethoven is a great school! It has highly qualified teachers that make sure that students are taught the Common Core Standards. They care for each child's well being. The school has a family friendly environment that reaches out to the local community. There are many great after-school programs as well. I love being a part of the Beethoven School Community!
I am a past student and parent of Beethoven as both my kids have graduated out. This school is amazing. Dr. Ford and the staff of teachers doing an AMAZING job. Those families choosing private schools and other schools not in their own community are truly missing out an amazing experience for their kids.
A fabulous community school of neighbors and friends working together to make our education system work well for our children.
There isn't enough positive words in the English language that I can use to describe how I and my family feel about Beethoven. As a former, student, staff member and presently as a parent Beethoven has shaped me into the person that I am. I am grateful to be a part of the Beethoven history. If you are concerned about your child's future the best starting point is Beethoven.
My child Loves Beethoven! Beethoven is a very small Community school, we have 350 students, which makes for small class sizes. I love that teachers know all our children even if they were not in their class. Our principal Dr. Ford is very active, she works well with the PTA and Booster Club. I still can not believe that we have the STAR program at zero cost. I am so happy to be a part of Beethoven! We are WINNERS!
"INCOMPETENCE" is what they teach at this terrible Mar Vista/Venice school. Principal is terrible. I visited this school at an open house and was apalled at how sloppy and unprofessional the principal and teaching staff were. Very poor academics. The website is a disaster too.
Beethoven is a great school with good teachers and aides, an abundance of parent involvement and strong leadership in Dr. Ford. I have been involved wtih Beethoven for over 15 years 5 with my 3rd grade son and 15 years ago with my daughter. Many teachers who were just starting thiers careers 15 years ago are still there today! I think that is Awesome and speaks for itself, that Beethoven is the place to be. Way to go Beethoven Bears, parents, and staff you are truly Winners!
Beethoven Elementary is a home away from home for my kids. They never want to leave or change schools. We love that there are less than 400 students; although, the class sizes seem to get bigger up into the 30's by 4th and 5th grade. As for a parent, our PTA and class parents are awesome! They do an oustanding job trying to raise funds for many programs. Unfortunately though, we are a Title 1 school, and therefore, can never meet our goal needs as there is continental divide. The school would benefit from two PTA programs, I believe. Some years I love our teachers and some years not so much, although the more I show up as an involved parent the more return I get from the teacher.
My child loves Beethoven Elementary! They have a remarkable staff and lots of parent involvement. They have lots of great fund raising events that help support our teachers and students and make it fun for the whole family! Way to go Beethoven keep up the good work!
this school has no innovation ... no programs addressing the most important things we need to be teaching our children today.... skills building curiosity, and social intelligence - IT IS TOTALLY SUFFOCATED in this "Teach to the Test" environment.
I have 2 children attending Beethoven ~ they both love going to school ~ literally RUN there sometimes which means to me that they are doing something right! It is truly a community school in the best sense of the word. Teachers, school admin and parents all working together to provide an enhanced learning environment. I love that we are a small ~ yet mighty school. And still with the lowest pledge request in town!!
My daughter really likes her school! It's a good size; there's lots of opportunities for extra activities and there is a very active PTA. The after school program is awesome!
We have been at Beethoven 4 years now, we have experienced outstanding support from our community of students, teachers, administration and parents. All the important elements come together at this neighborhood school to help our children thrive.
Not really sure what the last review is alluding to. In my experience staff at our school are open minded and professional. If a child's learning style is not condusive to the structured education public school provides, the teachers will assist and advise parents to find a school that can better accomodate the child's learning and academic needs.
We have been going(walking) to this school since 2001 and I have to say that these teachers are all awesome.I really recommend this neighborhood school with teachers who really care.
Great teachers and staff. My 5th grader has really done well here. Great parent participation. Great Boy and Girl Scouts at school. We will miss it next year, but won't be far away, just next door at Mark Twain.
Beethoven is a great school in a great community. There are many hard working parents and volunteers who work vigilantly to make sure that school continues to improve and give all the children a great environment for learning. Every teacher that my child has had has been a loving, envolved, role model in her life. Beethoven does a great job of giving the kids all that they need while dealing with a state and school district that continues to cut its budget. It really is a great family school, and being an involved parent makes the process even better.
Beethoven is great! There are so many opportunities for my children to learn more than just the standad stuff. Gardening, dancing, drama, art, science, clay class, composting and recycling. I am confident that when i drop my daughter off at school she will have a great day of learning in a safe, nurturing environment. All of the parents are so great and work really hard to get all the families together and active.
The worst experience for my son an us the parents in a lifetime. Unbelievable what happens in this school and nobody is willing to look closer. From bullies on campus tho nonexistent leadership. Incompetence wherever you care to look. Great teachers got moved out of the classroom and the bad ones that have no other interest that to reach their pension were left. One word describes this School : Horrible!
It is sweet, small neighborhood school with a caring staff and caring families.
