Dayton Heights School is a positive learning environment with excellent standards. It has an administrative structure that reflects excellent quality and lead by its principal who reflects a genuine caring for the education of the students. The leadership reflects high standards and commitment to make the Dayton Heights learning environment truly effective and real to meet the educational needs and character building of the students. As a parent I am very confident in the skills and education of the faculty and leadership. The educational background and training of the principal, vice principal, and most of the faculty members are coming from doctorate and masteral levels of education. I know that my child is in a very effective quality learning environment.
I would not describe this as an excellent school but it's not horrible either. There are teachers that work hard here and really care about the school. They are what makes the school worthwhile and they really seem to be the ones driving the academic improvements here. It would be nice to see a really organized, effective and motivational principal at this school. The current principal is just ok. I think she works hard but she's just ok. Communication from the school has not been consistent this school year. Things seem disorganized. This is not a negative rant about the school and I am involved in my child's education but things could really improve at Dayton Heights.
I'll have to agree with the more postivie posts here. The principal of this school cares, GENUINELY cares about the well being of these children. No one is helping ANYTHING by posting negative rants on an internet website. If you want to help this school then help by supporting the adminstration. The administration needs your support and positivity to grow and I would like to go on the record saying that the principal of this school and extremely kind and easy to talk to. She has been incredibly helpful to many people I know personally and I support her one hundred percent.
it's really unfortunate that some people can't appreciate what an intelligent and caring principal this school has. no wonder the school can't keep a principal for more than a couple years! we need to support our school administration, not harass them. after all, they're the ones taking care of the school we send our children to.
The PTA here was disbanded by the principal. Not enough playground supervision. I do not feel welcome when I come to this school.
I recently moved to Los Angeles and enrolled my kids at Dayton Heights. I must say that in my experience dealing with the principal she was anything but 'combative and unresponsive.' She was very helpful and easy to talk to. I feel that the negative comment does a disservice to other parents and is completely the opposite of my experience. She is very compassionate and I feel great about my kids well-being. Thanks!
My person opinion on this school is very positive. I think Dayton Heights is a great school. I went to this school, my other sister went to this school, my brother went to this school and now my little sister goes there (she's going to be there last one in the family to attend Dayton Heights) This school offers good memories. The teachers and staff are exellent. This school is highly recommended!
Excellent learning environment. the staff are friendly and caring to children and parents. my children have had a positive experience in their entry to school. my children's teachers particularly Ms.Lang (first grade)and Mr. Wagner (Kinder) have provided the effective learning tools for my children to develop their reading, writing, and math skills. I commend their ability to promote a positive learning environment for their students. My child's kindergarten experience has enabled her to love reading, writing, and math at a very so much so that these skills are applied to her everyday life. These teachers are quality educators and should be recognized for their teaching skills, experience, and patience. the quality of their work is reflected by the attitude the children have about school.
The staff is very warm and welcome. They are always there to help you and are like one big family.
This school is like a 2nd home where children are comfortable and feels safe. Apart from my above-average rating for the school and its personnel, I would like to give extra credit and commend Ms. Susan Malinowski for her outstanding teaching skills and strategies. Ms. Malinowski gives weekly performance report (in 3 categories) to parents on how their children are doing. This is a very useful tool to address issues which needs attention in a very timely manner. She effectively uses methods and techniques which facilitates learning and retention. Although, I have not actually observed how she conducts the class, I noticed at home that my child is applying and utilizing several techniques in making his homeworks and at times when we try to test him at home. Ms. Malinowski checks every single homework, exercises, and returns results which compensates for the child's and the parents' effort.
