Excellent school with an outstanding, energetic and caring principal leading the way. Music and PE program complement a strong academic focus. The teachers are friendly and approachable and so is the administrative staff. A wonderfully diverse school with happy students. A true gem. Thank you Rosewood for caring about our kids' future.
I love Rosewood . I've been there since first grade and now I'm in fifth . Everyone there is so nice and friendly . Our principal has also made our school so much better. If you your looking for an academically challenging school that's super friendly come to Rosewood.
Rosewood has an innovative and dedicated principal who knows every child by name, outstanding teachers, an office staff that cares and parents that work to make a difference for every child.
this is the school that i used to go to from pre school to 2nd grade. The teachers are wonderful, the programs are awesome, the curriculum and academics are off the chart (my opinion).
Rosewood is a lovely school that meets the needs of all the students. The staff goes above and beyond for all their families. It is a school that offers many programs, such as, P.E., instrumental and vocal music, and TK (transitional kindergarten).
This school has the potential to be the best in LAUSD at this time Rosewood has a group dedicated motivated parents working 24hr to raise much need funds for support many programs like PE and Vocal music. With more help this hidden jewel should be the brightest star in West Hollywood. One of the only a few schools with Arts program 3 days a week. One of the MOST diverse schools in all of Los Angeles.
It is true that the scores at Rosewood went down last year - often this is the case when a new principal comes to a school. Mrs. Crowder, however, is doing an amazing job at the school - the scores don't tell the whole story. Rosewood is one of the most diverse schools in the district, it has a PE coach, a vocal music instructor, a GATE program, a transitional kindergarten, and edible garden, a full-time librarian, great families, and wonderful teachers.
This year at Rosewood has been AMAZING so far! Our 4th grader is engaged and challenged and loves his teacher. Our Kindergartener LOVES school. He came into school not knowing his letters and now is beginning to read!!! We owe it all to his wonderful teacher. She is nurturing and makes learning fun and exciting. They have gone on field trips, they bring home tons of art work and sing songs. We have vocal music and dance and PE. My older son is participating in the orchestra and playing the trombone. I can't say enough about how happy we are to be a part of this school. If you are looking for a Kindergarten (or any grade for that matter) don't sleep on this one, Check out Rosewood Ave. Elementary School!
So happy my grandsons attend this school. They love Rosewood. The teachers keep them learning and happy. The neighborhood is lucky to have a wonderful public elementary school in their community. This school is diversely populated with wonderful families. My youngest grandson is in Kindergarten and just loves his school. His teacher is fantastic. He toured so many preschools and just wasn't interested in going, we weren't sure how he would feel about Kindergarten. Since the first day, he is eager to go to school in the mornings and proudly shows off the art and school work he has done. His teacher is doing something right!
The thing that used to make this school so special was that it was a champion of special education. It didn't just help the children with special needs, but enriched the entire student body and added to the diverse student body. Unfortunately under the new principal this has all been abandoned in favor of simply pushing for better test scores. I am so sad about this but will most likely be transferring my children out of this school as soon as possible.
