This is an excellent school with awesome teachers and wonderful S.T.A.R. teachers! This is the best school my child has been in!

This school is all about test scores and pleasing/catering to the rich and famous parents whose children attend. The academics are as stringent as any private school and individualism is discouraged. The teachers are harsh and inflexible. The administration is overworked and often rude. They constantly hit parents up for donations to both the school and to the teachers Unless your child is a rich automaton who is happy copying War and Peace in longhand, try one of the more 'diverse' local elementary schools. Note that in this neighborhood, diverse is anyone who makes less than 100K per year.

This is an excellent public school, with lots of enrichment programs, which give you the advantages many private schools have. Very active parent support group.

It is difficult for me to talk about Warner Avenue Elementary without getting angry. For all of its academic reputation, you couldn't find a school that is more cold, impersonal, snobbish. Ironically, the STAR program was a good program.

My child attends Warner Avenue Elementary School. It is a clean and beautiful school with great teachers and staff. The only down side to this school is the amount of homework given everyday. It seems excessive.

Warner Avenue is an excellent elementary school located in the heart of Westwood. It has tremendous parent support which helps to provide all of the extras such as art, music, science and phys ed. It's academics are superior and the school consistently is one of the top scoring elementary schools in the L.A. area.

My three children have been extremely happy at Warner Avenue and so have we with the level of education and motivation our children have received. The teachers are so enthusiastic and it shows. The after-school program is extensive and fun, and parents are really encouraged to get fully involved in all aspects of the school.

Students at Warner Avenue get good test scores and the curriculum is academically challenging. There is great parent involvement. The school is safe and there is good discipline. There is very poor responsiveness by teachers to children with individual needs. I would never send a child with ESL or ADHD there.

Very involved parents, good teachers. Only problem is class size. Students don't get a chance to really go deeply into interesting material, and really develop a lifelong love of science, for example.

This school receives tremendous parent involvement both in volunteer hours and funds received. Therefore, all the classroom supplies and playground equipment are always in top condition. The parents are actively involved in numerous aspects of the school which is greatly beneficial to both the school and the students. The classrooms are a bit crowded, but the teacher's are excellent at devoting individual time to students. They know how to bring out the best in their students, and are wonderful at motivating and inspiring.

Pluses: Amazing parent involvement. Minuses: Very tradiditional and uninspired teaching. Limited emphasis on creativity. A great school if you value speed, test taking, and spelling. STAR(the afterschool program) however, is great.

This school has made a significant impact in my life. Im a sucessfull realtor, and come from a background in Managing large hotel chains, and providing sales and marketing with national corporations. My success truly comes from the education that I received at Warner Ave school.I was one of the unfortunate child that was transported from other schools in LA that had reached their student capacity. And I feel lucky to have been one of the students that was sent here. All my sucess is a result of the root of confidence that was planted by the teachers of Warner Ave School. They were dedicated and always encouraged me to be who I am today. special thanks, to Mrs. Botansky, Mrs. Luchsinger,Mrs. Taniguchi.
