The schools curriculum is great! Cultural awareness is the theme of the school. The children are taught several languages from elementary level including Chinese and Spanish. Some select students get to learn Nahua, an indigenous language. Students entering after elementary school only get to learn these languages if they are willing to come before or after school. A regular school day is eight hours. Their lack of communication is what makes this school so frusterating for working parents. A students progress can drop dramatically with no notification to the parents. Their phone set up makes it almost imposible to reach anybody and parents request go ignored. This school is mainly set up for extremely level headed children who know what they want in life and are goal oriented. Not all children think that way. There are no sports to participate in. The best excersize the students can get is if they are willing to stay after school once a week for dance (Danza).
