This school should have more activities for the kids they don't have dances or kinder graduations it's sad what happened to rewarding the students and parents? I would love to go see my son dance or sing like all other schools.
teachers need to get involved with PTA and new members that care for the children need to get involved. the need for positive and fun activities for all children are badly needed. We need to encourage more sports, dance and public speaking skills for all grade levels:)
I have been monitoring the schools CST english scores for the past couple of years. basically they have been very poor. there should be no excuse for such bad scores. the school should stop teaching spanish to these kids and start teaching them english. i believe in teaching this kids the old school way, because that is what works. not spoon feeding a child engllish in hopes they will learn the language. just because the parent speaks only spanish is not an excuse that the child also has to learn it. believe me you are not doing that child any favors, but helping that child get behind. for those people who dont believe this. look at the english scores for the past couple of years...those scores will speak for themselves..
The new principle has recently made major changes that really improved the school. My child attended the last two years and I had attended a couple decades ago. There is now a protective fence surrounding the school, they have a anti-bully policy and they wear school uniforms. The good part is the teacher/parent connection. The teachers are very responsive to parent involvement. It is easy to volunteer. The teacher my daughter had was able to manage a rather large classroom. They seem to have good social values. (Last year at least.)
