Good school as far as teacher dedication and being oddly examples to the kids. The academics need much improvement however, especially in the middle and upper grades.

I worked at ELA Light and Life and loved being a part of the school. The administration, teachers, and staff are made up of godly men and women who love the Lord, love students, and love the school. They strive for excellence and students love the school.

I went to Light & Life from Kindergarten to 8th grade and it was the best decision my parents could have made for me. LAUSD is infamous for its poor education system, overcrowded classrooms and apathetic staff and faculty. Light & Life offered me a great foundation in God and for my future education. I have gone on to get my bachelor's degree at a 4 year University and plan on going further with my education. This would not have been made possible with out the one-on-one attention I received from the teachers who genuinely cared for me and the rest of the students. Even now I go back and visit the school and some of the staff who have been there for 15 years still remember my name. This is a great school with teachers that put in way more time into their students' lives than just from 8:30am when school starts to 3:30pm when school ends.

This school has been such a blessing to our daughter and our entire family! The staff here are incredibly welcoming and the teachers are so awesome with the students. Everyone here really loves the Lord and is commited to showing the kids that love and care. It really is more like a family than a school. We are all so blessed.

This school is a miracle and a blessing. God has helped it run along for a very long time and i love it. people have been saying that it is vane but it is more humble than anything Ive experienced. I love this school and wouldn't change it one bit.

Fantastic!!! My son began attending the school in the 3rd grade. One of the best choices we've ever made was taking him out of the public school system and enrolling him in Light & Life. The teachers are so dedicated to helping the children succeed. The student:teacher ratios are incredible. The staff is very helpful and it is very affordable considering the quality and attention your child will be receiving.

i interviewed Mr. Madrigal, ELA Light & Life Center's Principal yesterday afternoon. He was patient, kind, honest, and cordial. I am currently looking for a school now that my child is commencing middle school. I am also an experienced educator who asked him questions for over 2 hours! Believe it or not, he answered everything! The office manager Ms. Santana is friendly. The summer school children looked very happy. I am considering enrolling my son here. Also, he allowed me to see the textbooks. I also did not even make an appointment; I just used my cell in front of the school and 5 minutes later walked right in. My family and I were welcomed. I was not judged or asked my religious affiliation. I volunteered the info and I received a smile.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
