WLAB did not have a good stuff of the teachers (only a few were exceptions) and principals. We were dissapointed.

As a former student WLAB was a dissapointment. I was ridiculed for having an open mind. I was not bound by faith and did not want to have my problems solved by god. I have seen the cirriculm and I am ashamed. Teaching only one point of view, creationsim is not true education. Teaching so that students can have an objective opinion, is the key to being well balanced adult. WLAB does not do this.

WLAB is the perfect match for our son. He needs a small class environment and teachers that really care. WLAB provides this for him. He started in middle school and he is now in 10th grade. All his teachers know his name and when he needs extra attention they contact us right away to work as a team to get him back in track. There are a couple of teachers that have become his mentors and this has made a difference in his life. Overall, the school is a wonderful resource of academic, spiritual guidence and moral grounding, which will carry him for the rest of his life. We are delighted about the school.

In His divine way, God led us to this fabulous school (the best kept secret in town)! What a difference, not only for our son, but also for us as parents, from the previous public schools! Here at WLAB, the administration as well as every teacher, deeply cares about the student as an individual. Their dedication and sacrifice is extremely impressive, and it is refreshing to see their commitment to individual special needs, both spiritually and academically. There is truly a feel of family and peaceful security here, and although our son has graduated, the wonderful and precious memories remain vivid in our hearts. Thank you, WLAB!

As a former student and a current teacher at West Los Angeles Baptist School, I can say with confidence that my alma mater prepared me well for both college and beyond. I graduated from U.C.L.A. with a B.A. in History and Loyola Marymount with a M.A. in Education, and came back to teach at my high school, wanting to give back to the school that gave me so much. The quality of academic programs was so impressive to me, that I wanted to be a part of that for future generations. I have now been teaching for 16 years, all with W.L.A.B., and I plan on continuing to teach here as long as I can!

We found West L.A. Baptist High to be an outstanding fit for our son, who attended all six years. The quality of the academic programs are excellent, as our son was able to attend U.C.L.A. from W.L.A.B. What we love about the school most is that it ministered to the whole child: academically, spiritually and emotionally. The school is truly like a second family. We were very involved parents, which the school appreciated, and we loved.

WLAB is a small community that is very closely knit. The teachers are extremely caring, and strive to facilitate the students' learning on many levels. Most of our teachers have been at WLAB for more than seven years (some in excess of 15 years). Students attend major universities when they graduate such as UC Berkeley and LMU (Class of 2006). There are also students whose choice is not to attend college right away and begin working. Each child is assigned two academic counselors (their homeroom teacher and the all-school academic counselor). I am proud that I am able to pray with and for my students and that prayer is a real and practical solution. As a teacher, I can say that I have high expectations of all students and I guide them along the way to achieve not only my goals for them, but their own personal goals as well.

This school has been a disappointment. It may be fine for most kids, but our 7th grader needed special attention that was originally represented as available but did not materialize in practice. There appeared to be a high turnover of teachers and understaffed. There was no clear assignment of a councilor for students or parents and the solution to problems that would arise was prayer. This school with its small classes did not give the individual advantages that another institution in the area might.
