Hello I was wondering if anyone knew of a good school in the Los Angeles/ San fernando Valley for students that require a good special education team. My son is in the reg.Ed class but just needs supports. He is going to the fourth grade.I was thinking of a good public school or charter school. My choices are open in the area since I am looking for a place and will move depending on my son's school. Or even a charter school that he can attend a few times a week and I could homeschool the extra days. Thanks so much in advance :)
Thanks for the reply magnetmom... I called the school and you could only get in by lottery.., So I am more looking for a school to get him in for the new school year ... But I have heard excellent stories about that school and special needs kiddos :)78073
If you're looking for this September, the charter route will be out. They've all had their lotteries, so you're essentially looking at public schools.
I haven't heard much about the hybrid charters, except there is a school in Oak Park (just past Agoura) that partners with families. Your son goes in and meets with a teacher once a week and then he comes home to do the work. The families meet for field trips and other group outings.
