Great and very responsive principal. Some differentiated education within the classroom according to student abilities. Lots of good after school enrichment programs. Great clubhouse for after school care.
Blossom Hill is a great school with a fantastic community of parents and teachers working together to make an ideal learning environment for kids! The principal has been in place for 3 years now and is a revelation! Parents and staff work together well at this school. My oldest has gone k-5 at this Blossom Hill and has now move on to the excellent middle school. My second is presently in 4th grade. We are VERY happy with the education provided which encourages a well rounded and happy child. The theater program is amazing and through the funding of LGEF our children get music, PE and science above the levels found in other public schools.
Blossom Hill has great teachers, dedicated and involved with kids in their classes. My daughter came here from a private, non-traditional school and while she has regressed a bit academically she adores her teacher, continues to enjoy learning and does very well in class. Peer and social belonging did not go that well as she comes from a very small, close knit community school to a bigger, more material oriented environment. . And because both are very important to our family I am leaning towards pulling her out of this school.. Great emphasis is placed on teaching to the test with not enough time to spend on teaching the material in the test. This is why most parents at Blossom Hill resort to tutoring, Kumon etc to get their kids where they need to be for test score results. The kids here are very smart (including my daughter that does well on tests) but if the teachers don't have time to do lessons (no fault of the teachers) you either do poorly on CST's or you get "external" help to boost your CST scores Impressive school facility, good teachers but the test results are the reflection of the demographics and affluence of the community... not necessarily school quality.
The test scores are the highest in the district and the kids learn so much! My son looks forward to school each day. The teachers are excellent and the school is very beautiful and safe!
Blossom Hill has teachers who love what they do and they show it every day in what they bring to our students. Blossom Hill also has a unique strength in its parent involvement. Because of parents, we do amazing things.
Blossom Hill is a very well- organized, friendly, beautiful, and safe elementary school with great teachers, staff, and very involved parents.
BH is a fantastic elementary school. Great teachers, outstanding principal, wonderful facility, very involved (in a positive way!) parents and very active Home and School Club. Well-rounded approach to academics and the whole child.
Blossom Hill is an amazing school, not just because of its outstanding academics and curriculum that includes art, music, and computer skills; but also because it seeks to promote good character in its students. Teachers and parents show our kids how to be considerate, honest, polite, hard-working, helpful, caring and respectful. Teachers, parents and staff all care about the people our children will become.
I have a Kinder, 3rd Grader and 5th Grader at the school. The academic programs are good, the vast majority of staff is excellent and the Principal and campus is fabulous. My kids are thriving and we have no complaints!
I currently have a fourth grader at the school. Blossom Hill School has a fantastic principal, Lisa Reynolds who joined in 2008. She is fabulous. Overall the teacher quality has been great, and parent involvement is high. The school is a very safe place, despite the large size, which is a testament to its leadership, staff and parent community.
Blossom Hill supports its students in achieving both social and learning skills, while providing excellent teachers and dedicated parents and grandparents. The students are respectful and happy and proud of their work.
Great school, passionate teachers, highly involved parents, strong principle leadership, major new remodel will be fantastic when complete! I moved to Los Gatos because of this great school for my three kids.
Academic programs are average. Music, art, sports and other extracurricular activities are great! A lot of parents are very much involved in academics and other activities.
The school sets high standards. Revolving Door on the Principal slot last 4 years. Starting planned renovation of structures. Good communication. After-hours program exceptional. Excellent parental participation, but with a noticeable level of 'entitlement' due to incomes, received status and self importance which is consistent for the area overall (LG/Saratoga)...
School has a good reputation and higher API score than the same elementary schools in the area. Safe environment and some good teachers.
Blossom Hill is an excellent school. I love the opportunity I had to participate in the performing arts.
I have had my stepson attend this school and currently also have a 1st grader at this school. In the future my young son will also attend. I think this school is great and I have no complaints about it all. I have had positive interactions with every teacher I have met, and also the principal currently. My daughter has learned a lot since kindergarden and continues to thrive and love attending school.
I didn't care that much for this school. I have a child that went there for 3 years. I was under the impression that LG had such great schools but found out otherwise. The school keeps changing principals. My child would do papers that didn't even get corrected by the teacher. Spelling didn't get corrected very much. There is no honor roll at this school. They are doing the new, new math (fuzzy math) with the traditional math mixed together. I could go on but that is just some of the things that I didn't care for at this school.
