The teachers do not seem to be monitored enough. Teachers should be individuals, but the standards and learning styles vary so drastically that it is difficult for students. There is also inconsistent discipline.Academically my child was in a class where the teacher was extremely strict. I was afraid of the teachers harshness and high standards, but my son rose to the occasion and enjoyed the teacher.
My daughter started Kindergarten at LLES in fall 2003. Being one of the youngest in her class (just short of the cut off date) I was fully prepared for her to be held back, however, with all of the one on one work she has turned out to be one of the best readers and writers in the class! The teachers are all great and really take the time to get to know you and your child as to provide the best learning environment possible.
I just had 1 daughter finish 6th grade and just started my other 1 in preschool here and I knew my 1st daughter was gonna be safe and well educated so I have no problems with sending my little one there now. The teachers and the rest of the staff are great people and are always doing what they can to to help our children.
We moved here from Sonoma County where my daughter was really struggling in school. Since we have been here my daughter has been in the top of her classes the last three years in a row. The teachers have been great and I truly felt like they cared for their students success. She has really succeeded in learning what was expected of her and loving it the whole way. I am happy to see how enthusiastic she is about getting up in the morning to go to school.
My daughter who is in first grade has had a good experience with both Kindergarten and First Grade teachers at Lower Lake. She is an advanced reader and has had support to keep her motivated. She is challenged at a level that she neeeds to be and does not seem to have work that is too easy for her. I hope our experience in second grade will be as good!
