I feel that some of the the teachers could be a little more motivated and helpful to the students but there there are some great teachers as well.

Some of the teachers were not helpful to the students, the staff were not friendly toward students, and classes usually couldn't be kept quiet and manageable so that students could concentrate. The over-all atmosphere of the campus from students, to staff, to teachers, was uncomfortable and aggressive.

People should check out Lower Lake High School today. It has a highly motivated and hard working staff. It has great music, drama and vocational programs and a beautiful campus including a state of the art gymnasium that is the envy of the county. Students from LLHS have attended Johns Hopkins, Yale, Princeton, Carnegie Melon, Berkeley, Davis, Santa Cruz and other great universities.

Having graduated from this school I know that it is possible to get an adequate educarion here. However, my experience over the last few school years has episodes of teachers not interested in teaching and seemingly more interested in passing the time not imparting knowledge to their students. Much will have to change for LLHS to regain it's prior stellar reputation and I believe it has to start at the top on down. Student learning and overall well being will have to become job one. It is far from the top priority now.

Only a few good honest teachers left. Many have become stagnant in their position and their attitude reflects upon their students. The past is the same as the present, and the current principal has done little to improve the overall program the school personnel adhere to. Some leaders are movers, but he seems to dictate what serves him best. Strong leaders set strong examples to follow.

Lower Lake High School prepared my three children for successful college experiences. My son received grants and scholarships to fully fund his 4 years at a university in Riverside. He is now a highly qualified teacher and is teaching geometry. My older daughter received her AA and has chosen to be a full time mom for a few years. My youngest just finished her first year at a university. Each participated in a variety of activities offered at LLHS. Some of the activities included The Conflict Mediation Team, Volleyball, Basketball, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Concert and Jazz Choir, Art Club, Offices in student government, Homecoming Court, Europe Club (included three weeks in Greece and Italy), and others that I've forgotten. They all did well on their SATs. They had no trouble getting accepted into the college of their choice. LLHS offers a great education if you want it.

I think that maybe you should ask students their opinion on this school. Parents are not going to know what is going on in school only students really know what really happens on campus and I think that Lower Lake High is great. We barly even have fights on campus and I am not scared for my life. We have great teachers and students on our campus. You need to stop looking at what went on in the past and look at what is going on now. We have students going to Yale, Stanford, and Brown. We do many activities and we are all close as a school. Our basketball team is great. As a school we are growing and becoming better I think you should put more positive things about our school and not say it is the gutter of lake county.

Lower Lake High School has been known as the gutter of schools in Lake County, and is not going to get any better if the Principal stays the same. Many teachers are not prepared and or not qualified. There are some excellent teachers but they are few and far between, mostly senior staff.
