Not happy with the administration My kids and I were very sad to learn the principal last yer had decided to move on. This year we miss him even more that the new principal and vice principal have come in, and completely messed things up. I no longer want my children at this school and plan to do an interdistrict transfer next year. There teachers are either totally awesome or just there for a pay check there is no in between.

We are not happy with the administration at John Adams. Primarily the Vice Principal who seems to over step the boundaries of a V.P. on a regular basis in our opinion. We have had a few minor difficulties with the teacher of one of our children. She is unable to handle what we consider to be normal behavior for a small child. An example is that he was sent home for the day because he 'has to always get the last word in.' They have on more than one occasion singled out children, which we don't feel is healthy either. On the positive side, our children are learning the basics as required by the state. Unfortunately we had far higher hopes for them when the school year was beginning.

I have two children that attend this school one in 6th grade this year and the other just started kinder. Most of the teachers I have delt with are great if your an involved parent as I am they are willing to go the distance but I have noticed you have to approach them first. Everything about this school is great.

The music sports and extracurricular activities, were something different to my kids since they didn't have this activities at their old school, and thats something that I want them to do, along with the memorization of poems. I think the quality of the academic areas are higher here.

I have found John Adams to be an excellent school. In the upper grades, class sizes range about 36 students per teacher, and there are few if any aides, but teachers are committed to excellence. I have always found that any concerns I have had about my children's education have been addressed changes made if necessary. In talking with other parents, I have found that most are highly impressed overall with thier child's progress. This school has high standards and expects students to meet those standards. The only complaints I have heard are from parents who expect the teachers and administators to lower expectations for their child. I would give this school an A.

I had 2 children at this school this last school year. One of my children has a mental illness and needs extra help with academics. This school tries, but needs more education for themselves to become better equipped to work with different mental illnesses, not just physical handicapped. We have an IEP and it seems that unless I keep on top of them, it is not always followed completely. They get to lax. My other child has no handicaps and there seem to be no problems with school with her. I noticed that if the child needs extra help the school isnt so great. I do want to add that the VP has been a much greater help and more involved than the Principal.

This school is committed to the educational growth of all students. The class sizes are large, but all students receive excellent preparation for the next grade level. The sixth grade students are always prepared to enter Jr. High. This is one of the few schools that have a computer literacy program which teaches students to use different programs and prepare presentations using Hyper Studio. Over all, this is an excellent school.

My three children go to John Adams. Mr. Davis is a very good and friendly principal and is willing to help when ever and where ever he can. Ms. Smith, Ms Hill and Mr.Duncan are very good teachers and are fair to all the children. I am glad my children are able to attend a school like John Adams. The only bad thing I have to say about this school is the lack of supervision on the playground.
