Wow, I have observed this high school for 5 years. I am very impressed with the school structure, rules that are enforced, student activities and GPA of the students. The dedication of the teachers is so evident in the classroom, on campus after school activities, and the participation of teachers at sporting events cheering on their team. After talking to a few of the students, (15 of them, both boys & girls) I found them to be very intelligent, prepared for stepping out into the "real world" feeling their faculty is doing a great job in teaching and preparing them for college and life.

The only reason students get good grades here is because of the little homework they give. I got all A's here last year. This school is weak on dress code, homework, and safety. My classmates were always rude and disrespectful. Everyone is also so much into sports that it has taken over their lives, it's sad really. They think they're going to become a pro in the future? Haha

Being an alumni, I'd have to say that Sierra High is an amazing school. The teachers were great. They were interested in not only seeing academic growth from their students but personal growth as well. Teachers and Administrators were not afraid to discipline students accordingly. And the throughout the four years I attended Sierra, I found it VERY easy to get a hold of my teachers/ admin to discuss any problems I encountered. The student life at Sierra is superb as well. Though you have the few hoodlums, as with any school, it seemed very easy to meet and get along with peers. Most of the students I met, all had a common goal, and we helped each other reach that goal. This school prepares it's students well enough to go beyond high school and into a 4 year college. Sierra High School deserves 5 stars.

I love the block system because it has definitely helped with college preparation for our son who is planning on a 4 year college degree. The vice principals are not afraid to discipline and to make kids suffer the consequences for their choices, and I really like that. Too many kids blame everyone else for their problems, and they are taught not to accept responsibility for their actions. I'm glad they don't get away with that at Sierra. Our high school students are the adults of the future, and this is where they need to make good choices for their futures, not blame their failures on someone else just because they choose not to apply themselves and/or are just doing 'good enough' and don't have any motivation to succeed! Hooray for Sierra's committment to helping students succeed - even if it involves hard choices based on a student's actions.

I currently have a child who is a junior at Sierra High. She has had a great high school experience. Their band instructor is amazing, and Sierra should be grateful that he is dedicated and teaches there!

I enjoy attending Sierra High School. The block schedule makes it easier to get all of my assignments finished and is way less stressful. The staff are nice and easy to get along with. Out of the other high schools in MUSD I say Sierra is the best.

I read here about parents complaning about the dress code and the behavior of the kids in the class. To that I say get a life parents this school is awsome. Trust me i have seen some other schools that are a far cry from whats going onn at sierra. I have on child there and he loves it. He is taught at home about respecting others and dressing in a a manor thats not going to cause issue at school. Parents need to be parents and stop blaming the school for there lack of parenting skills. I say right on sierra. Keep up the good work.

I love the school. the block scheduale makes the days so much easier, and compared to the other schools its the cleanest. We only have four classes that we have a day, and after the term is over we have 4 new classes. Its a really cool scheaduale.
