There is no doubt that the middle school staff is dedicated to their jobs and hold a high bar of rigorous curriculum for all the students. And yet flexible enough to accommodate the trials and challenges that a special needs student brings to such an absolutely beautiful site. Boy when I think back along time ago when I was in school, I could only dream of being at such a prestigious school! You go MMS Staff! I know there are many parents in the district, like myself that are really grateful for all your hard work, especially during tough fiscal times. The middle school gave my child time and room to explore what it really takes to become a responsible young adult.

Most of the teachers are very caring. A few of the teachers do the same assignments year after year, even when the majority of their students are producing below-average grades. They are unable and/or are unwilling to modify assignments to suit the sudents' needs. One 7th grade teacher is an outright bully and needs to be replaced. The principal with the so-called "big head" has been re-assigned to the detriment of the students. He was VERY caring.

Sometimes I think only malcontents post reviews at this site. I have had one child go through this school and one child currently enrolled. I agree that the school is underfunded and understaffed, but that is not the school's fault. MMS staff are making the best of a grim financial situation, and they provide a quality education. I totally disagree with the comment about the principal having a 'big head'; on the contrary, he is a jovial man who loves kids and goes way out of his way to find funding and personnel for enrichment activities. What MMS accomplishes with their limited resources is nothing short of amazing.

I have had three children go through this school. My last one graduates this year and I am so glad to be out of there. It's a small out of the way school with a over-the-top disciplinarian Principal who has a 'big head'. There are some great caring teachers though.

Some teachers in this school need to focus on the kids. The supervisor needs to realize that a teachers is going to be on his/her best behavior when he/she comes into the classroom. Kids are not always incorrect or liars. This is the time when kids need more attention than in earlier years. Not in the same way, they need guidance and assurance. There are only a few adults who in my mind are 'problems' and those few can make or break a child. When my child told me that everyday upon leaving this one particular class he felt like crying because of the humiliation, then I knew I had done the right thing by removing him from this school.
