My daughter started Kindergarten n Aug 2010. She started being bullied by a girl n her class2wks into the year.We took appropriate actions w/ talking2teacher & then moving2 the Principal. My daughter was poked w/staples, punched innose, hit 2x in side, kicked n stomach, almost slapped n face, pushed 2 ground, mud put downback & smooshed in &more. The Principal admitted our daughterdidnothing 2 deserve this& talked2 other kid's parents &admitted other girl's parents "needed2tak their rose colored glasses off". WE WERE FORCED 2 REMOVE OUR CHILD FROM SCHOOL 4 SAFETY REASONS. not fair that our little girl has to start a new school due to then negligence of the school taking appropriate actions to deal with this matter. We now have to pay over 500 per month for our daughter to go to a safe, private school. I would not recommend this school to anyone with young children. very dissapointed in the "zero tolerance" policy not being inforced

Donn B. Chenoweth is by far one of the best schools I've ever attended. The teachers are wonderful, all of the staff is very kind. they've created a one of a kind learning environment. The kids are not awarded for average performance, but for their achievements. They hold assemblies where some get responsibilty, caring, trustworthiness, honesty, respect, or citizenship. these categories are known as the six pillars. They also may get awards for accelerated reader, mathematical achievements, or for successfully learning english on top of their native language. I truly apprieciate what this school has done for all of the students, and I feel bad because they are extremely low on their budget and they've had to cut some field trips and other things they do annually for the students. But overall, they deserve two thumbs up!

The school staff was awful i felt it wasn't very welcoming to children of low class households. I felt different and was often alone. Not a diverse enviorment but the meals and school supplies were new and the kids were often rewarded for average performance.

It is very refreshing to have my child attend Chenoweth. We created an all-around relationship with the previous Principal Mrs. Saldivar-Morse, now Mrs. Brite & a wonderful teacher, Mrs. Shalvey. My Daughter transitioned from a good program of home-schooling into Chenoweth where strategies were developed for the success of my Daughter. Proper tools were given to my Girl & she to tries twice as hard than her peers to succeed. Seeing this come to fruition is a wonderful feeling & seeing her blossom is heart-warming. From the faculty to everyone in between, Thank You so much!

I brought my son to Chenoweth for the first grade with much hesitation. We had come from a very highly rated school in Albany and I was concerned the school was not as good as our Albany school. I was very pleasantly surprised! This school has a wonderful principal that really looks out for the needs of the students. The academic programs really challenged my son and although they don't have a separate music or sports teacher, their teachers take great care to include music and sports 4 days a week! I was able to help in the classroom every week and saw many parents doing the same. There was a lot of parent participation and many after school and extra ciricular activities for the children to take pare in. I would highly recommend this school to anyone moving into the area.
